Leftist Director Oliver Stone Makes Anti-Semitic Remarks
July 28th, 2010
Leftist film director Oliver Stone (PLATOON and JFK) was recently caught making some Anti-Semitic remarks and downplaying the evils of Adolf Hitler.
In a "shocking" interview with the Sunday Times in London, Stone minimized the Holocaust, adding that America's focus on the Jewish genocide by Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist henchmen in Germany and Austria is a result of "the Jewish domination of the media."
Hitler and his followers murdered five to six million Jews during World War II in 1939-1945, obliterating about 90% or more of Europe's Jewish population.
"Hitler was a Frankenstein, but there was also a Dr. Frankenstein - German industrialists, Americans and the British. He had a lot of support," Stone told the Sunday Times.
"Hitler did far more damage to the Russians than the Jewish people, 25 or 30 [million killed]," he added.
Stone also said that the Jews are a "major lobby" in the United States.
"They are hard workers," he said. "They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington. Israel has ["f" word] up United States foreign policy for years."
In January, Stone had been quoted as saying that Hitler was "an easy scapegoat."
Stone has finally been forced to apologize for his remarks:
"In trying to make a broader historical point about the range of atrocities the Germans committed against many people, I made a clumsy association about the Holocaust, for which I am sorry and I regret. Jews obviously do not control media or any other industry,' he said, adding that the Holocaust was an "atrocity."
American Jewish Committee director David Harris said, "By invoking this grotesque, toxic stereotype, Oliver Stone has outed himself as an anti-Semite. For all of Stone's progressive pretensions, his remark is no different from one of the drunken, Jew-hating rants of his fellow Hollywood celebrity, Mel Gibson."
MOVIEGUIDE® begs to differ slightly with Mr. Harris. A drunken rant made in private is a bit different from a sober statement made in a public news interview, which bears a higher degree of moral responsibility.
Be that as it may, we wonder if, despite his apology, Mr. Stone will be treated differently from now on by the liberal media, as Mel Gibson was treated differently for making an Anti-Semitic statement despite his own public apology.
Also, it should be noted that in the Frankenstein mythology, the Frankenstein monster is an abused creature that lashes out against his more guilty creator and those who abuse him. Thus, by comparing Hitler to the abused monster, Oliver Stone was letting Hitler off the hook and, like most lamebrain liberals and leftists in America, putting the ultimate blame on the United States and Britain.
