ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS:  CHIPWRECKED

Alvin and pals find themselves overboard a cruise ship and land on a tropical island, which at first they think is deserted. The ALVIN movies have historically been very family friendly and a lot of fun and have even won Movieguide® Awards. We look forward to see what how this next movie turns out.

THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN

Pairing Steven Spielberg with Peter Jackson (director of LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy) creates a terrific movie of adventure.  The movie has earned 4 Stars and a +1 Acceptability by Movieguide®. The full review won’t be available until just before release because of our agreement with the studio. But, hold onto your hats for a fun, rollicking adventure.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Based on the very popular book series, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO is not light, holiday movie fare. The foreign language version earned a -3 for extreme violence and sexual content. The full review will be available closer to release.

December 23

WE BOUGHT A ZOO

Though this sounds like a fun, family movie, but it really isn’t. It’s actually a drama of a family dealing with the death of the wife/mom. It includes much family arguing, rebellion and other negative elements. The full review will be available closer to release date.

December 25

EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE

This is a brilliant, extremely moving drama starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock about the relationship between a father and son in the wake of the terrorist attack on New York City on 9/11. The full review will be available the Friday before Christmas.

WAR HORSE

Directed by Steven Spielberg, WAR HORSE is the story of a young man and his friendship with his horse that sends him to find the horse in the midst of World War I. The movie is beautifully filmed, but very slow, with a script that needs work. The review will be available on Christmas Day.

THE DARKEST HOUR

THE DARKEST HOUR is an intense science fiction movie about a group of young people standing up against an alien invasion. The full review will be released Christmas Day.
