The devastating harm from pornography is becoming more evident with each passing day. Now a website has been launched to provide ready access to credible, peer-reviewed research documenting that harm.
"Pornography Harms, http://pornharms.com, is a one-stop location for sound research, news articles and opinion pieces demonstrating the harm from pornography," said Patrick Trueman, the site's creator. "The site will be of great help to researchers at all academic levels and the press and concerned public."
Trueman, the former chief of the U.S. Department of Justice Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, expressed strong concern for the direction of America due to the prominence of pornography in the daily lives of our citizens.
HOLLYWOOD, CA - Moviegoers prefer movies with Christian and biblical values, reveals an annual study of box office figures among the major movies produced by Hollywood.
According to Movieguide®'s 2010 Annual Report to the Entertainment Industry, of the movies released by the six major studios and the major independent studios in 2009, movies with very strong Christian worldviews (such as "The Blind Side" and "Disney's A Christmas Carol") averaged $75.7 million per movie at the North American box office in 2009, but movies with very strong Non-Christian worldviews (such as "Brüno") averaged only $26.9.
"Movies with very strong Christian worldviews average the most money by far," said Dr. Baehr, Founder and Publisher of Moviegui...
Moviegoers here and overseas still prefer conservative movies with strong Pro-American, traditional, patriotic, capitalistic, anti-communist content or values and biblical morality to a great extent, a new study by Movieguide® finds.
"This annual cultural trend continues to show most people in this world respond to conservative, traditional values, not radical, utopian, unworkable, and immoral anti-conservative ideologies," said Dr. Ted Baehr, Founder and Publisher of Movieguide®: The Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment, a Christian conservative advocacy group.
Dr. Baehr noted that the "vast majority" of the world's population is religious, with about 2.3 billion people saying they are Christian, about 1.6 billion saying...
About two-thirds of American adults, 63% or 146.66 million adults, say they are church or synagogue members, according to a December 2009 poll conducted by Gallup.
If one includes the children of those Americans, then that would mean that about 194.42 million people in the United States are members of a church or synagogue! This raises the question, what is the mass media of entertainment, including the "news" media and Hollywood, doing to meet the needs and desires of those 194 million people?
Gallup noted in 2007 that only 17% of Americans, or about 52.46 million people, say they never attend a church service

A Harris Interactive® Poll of 2,303 American adults on the Internet, taken Nov. 2-11, 2009, found that 82% of Americans believe in God and 73% believe Jesus is God and/or the Son of God.
These numbers reflect an increase of two percentage points from the same Harris poll taken in 2008. No wonder the number of movies with at least some positive Christian content or values increased in 2009 compared to the previous two years.
By contrast, belief in Darwin's theory of evolution, ghosts, reincarnation, UFOs, astrology, and witches all seems to be dropping.
These positive trends reflect what God teaches us about God, Jesus Christ, science, and theology in the ancient, historical, inerrant documents of the Bible, whose historical reliability ...

In another sign of cultural collapse, a new study by researchers at Washington State University shows that celebrity endorsements are an effective political strategy for engaging younger voters and getting them to the polls.
The study found that an 11% increase in voter turnout among 18 to 24-year-olds in recent years was "largely attributable to celebrity get-out-the-vote promotions."
Also, for example, the support of Oprah Winfrey helped Barack Obama win the presidency, and the support of actor Chuck Norris helped Mike Huckabee come in second to John McCain during the Republican primaries.
This trend shows that MOVIEGUIDE®'s efforts to help Hollywood celebrities in their Christian walk, through the Annual Faith & Values Awards Gal...
