By Ben Kayser, Managing Editor
New in theaters is the faith based movie THE IDENTICAL starring well known Hollywood actors Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd, Seth Green, and Joe Pantoliano as well as musician turned actor Blake Rayne who was interviewed separately. It’s a period drama centered on a young man with incredible musical talent who has an identical rock-star brother he doesn’t know.
Ray Liotta (GOODFELLAS and NARC) plays the passionate preacher and compassionate, though strict, father of the main character. In an exclusive interview with Movieguide®, he told how he got the role and discussed his own personal struggle with faith.

Overcoming Social Media Sins
Social media and the Internet have some drawbacks for married couples. More and more husbands and wives are befriending former friends of the opposite sex and comparing their lives. This can lead some people to become dissatisfied with their own lives and lead to a variety marital problems ranging from envy to lust.
Old flames are best left in memories (or forgotten), not tracked down on Facebook. Divorce courts are finding more and more couples whose Facebook activity has led to the demise of a marriage. Private investigators find Facebook a goldmine for tracking bad behavior.
Internet pornography is a huge problem among people who attend church. Even worse, perhaps, is the shocking percentage of those...

“The Palace” by Lee Duigon, Storehouse Press, Vallecito, California, 321-page large paperback
Reviewed by Robert Knight
If you take Mark Twain’s “The Prince and the Pauper,” place it in a post-modern world of donkey carts, add magical characters and unexplained mysteries, and, most importantly, put God at the center, you have Lee Duigon’s latest fantasy novel.
As with the first five books of his Bell Mountain series, “The Palace” can stand on its own for new readers, since Mr. Duigon deftly folds in background.
Evil once again masquerades as good, with usurpers to the throne of the kingdom of Obann offering to appease a neighboring tyrant named t...
TV Ads Which Abuse Children’s Innocence
By Dr. Claude A. Curran
As each sporting season draws to an end it seems that the championship celebrations have barely ended when speculation begins over changes in team rosters, who will be back next season and who will not be back. That is the unpredictability of sports.
However, one perennial staple of televised professional sports in the US is those annoying “men’s pills” commercials. These ads seem to have no-cut contracts with all pro sports—baseball, football, basketball, hockey, golf, all of them. It is impossible to watch any professional sporting broadcasts without being molested by these ads.
Most everyone whom I have talked to about these commercials finds them annoying bu...

THE LILIES OF THE FIELD: Quality: * * * * Acceptability: +4– 1963: This wonderful family movie teaches the Gospel in a winsome, entertaining way that’s unsurpassed by most other movies. In the story, a group of German nuns transplanted to Southwest America convince a young black laborer to help them build a local church. In the meantime, the young man teaches the nuns the joys of Pentecostal Protestant worship focused on Jesus and His Gospel. Both Jesus and the local church are lifted up, and Sidney Poitier’s performance a...

DUCK DYNASTY, Kirk Cameron and More!
** DUCK DYNASTY is Still a Summer Hit!
While the summer box office has been sluggish, basic cable networks are showing strong numbers for new and established shows alike. Among the top shows is DUCK DYNASTY, though boasting its lowest ratings since 2012, is still the number one reality show this summer. Receiving an average of 5.9 million viewers, DUCK DYNASTY was the fourth most popular summer basic cable show among total viewers in all genres, right behind TNT’s RIZZOLI & ISLES, MAJOR CRIMES and THE LAST SHIP. This is a clear reminder that a large portion of America is hungry for TV entertainment that reflects their lifestyles or values.

Regarding the Ice Bucket Challenge, Russell told Movieguide®, “So few people even know of the disease or even know what it is. I think it’s done a great job at raising awareness for that, but I felt that it was particularly good...

What’s Next After GOD’S NOT DEAD?
If you received a text message this past spring which consisted of the simple, yet powerful words, “God’s not dead,” it’s probably because the sender was one of the millions of people who watched and was touched by the movie whose message and title proclaimed that life-changing truth.
GOD’S NOT DEAD earned $62 million in revenue worldwide, startling Hollywood and further proving once again that faith-based movies – even those produced outside of the Hollywood Entertainment Industry – strike a resounding chord with audiences.
PureFlix, the company that made GOD’S NOT DEAD, recently announced its follow-up project, DO YOU BELIEVE?, which begins shooting next month.
