Christian Satire Done Right:
Behind the Scenes of BELIEVE ME
Ben Kayser, Managing Editor
Now in select theaters and available on VOD is the movie BELIEVE ME, a comedy about four fraternity college students who get in trouble when they create a fake charity so they can scam Christians into giving them money. When the trailer first arrived, many were confused by the pitch. It’s a movie made by Christians and features respected evangelical Christian musician Lecrae, yet the trailer would make one believe that the movie mocks Christianity. Yet, upon viewing the movie and speaking with the director and two of the lead actors, a message rings out that is both uplifting to Jesus and spiritually convicting for Christians and unbelievers alik...
Author and Giver of All Good Things: Love, Increase, Nourish, and Fruit
By Dr. Ted Baehr
The prayer being said all around the world for the day of this message reveals the good news for each of us in all the scripture readings:
Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things: Graft in our hearts the love of Your Name; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness; and bring forth in us the fruit of good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.
As you will see, the readings today, especially the reading about Moses, speak to you, specifically. God was not just calling Moses but is calling you and telling you that e...
Hollywood Publicist Shares the Gospel and a Life Is Saved
By Michelle S. Lazurek, Contributing Writer
A gentleman in my church recently shared a story about an incident that occurred after a recent heart attack. Awakening from his anesthetic daze, the Lord said to him, “Open your eyes.” As he stared at the unimpressive, white washed walls of his hospital room, the Lord said, “No. Open your eyes and see what is around you.”
The Lord then brought to his mind a passage in 2 Kings 6:15-17:
“When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. ‘Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?’ the servant asked. ‘Don’t be afraid,” the prophet an...

Sudden Celebrity Deaths Reveal the Urgency of Christ’s Gospel
By Dr. Tom Snyder, Editor
The recent sudden, unexpected deaths of comedienne Joan Rivers (killed during a “minor” operating procedure) and actress Molly Glynn of TV’s CHICAGO FIRE (killed by a falling tree during a sudden thunderstorm) show more than any words can say the urgency of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today is the time, now is the hour for sharing the Good News with everyone you know and meet and for giving your heart, soul and mind to Jesus Christ.
As Jesus said in John 10:10, there is always someone or something to steal, kill and destroy when least expected, but Jesus comes to rescue and bless, "A thief comes onl...

The End of an Era that Ended Long Ago: Maria Von Trapp, RIP
by Jerry Newcombe
Earlier this year, an event happened that did not receive wide notice. The last of the Von Trapp Family Singers, the last of the children—the real ones—died.
Her name was Maria—not to be confused with the lady played by Julie Andrews, Maria Augusta Trapp, who died in 1987. Maria Von Trapp’s death in February 2014 marks the end of an era.
The Sound of Music deserves its accolades as the Movie of the Year (1965) and one of the finest films ever made. Even my one-year-old granddaughter is mesmerized by the puppet scene.
As a film it is an icon. One time the great anti-gambling crusader, Rev. Tom Grey was asked on 60 Minutes to respond to those ...
The 007 Movie Villains Disconnect with Reality
By Peter Hammond
During a recent visit to the Imperial War Museum in London, as I examined the Secret Service exhibits, I could not help but notice the sharp contrast between the villains depicted in James Bond 007 films and the real enemies of the Realm.
Although MI5 and MI6 were riddled with high level KGB infiltrators, Kim Philby, Guy Burgess, Harry Houghton, John Cairncross, George Blake, Donald Maclean, Geoffrey Prime, Anthony Blunt and Sir Roger Hollis, no 007 film has really tackled that reality. That M, at the time of the early Bond films, was a Soviet agent would make an explosive plot but is never dealt with.
British physicist Dr. Alan...
