A Canadian judge sentenced a man who brutally beheaded and cannibalized a man on a bus to yearly evaluations at a mental institution.
The family of victim Tim McLean, a 22-year-old carnival worker dismissed the trial as a "rubber stamp." His mother added that a yearly hearing was ridiculous. They vowed to fight the law that allows the criminally insane to be released into the community once they are deemed "cured," without serving a minimum jail sentence.
"A crime was still committed here, a murder still occurred," said Carol deDelley, McLean's mother.
"Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death" - Numbers 35:31.

Jackie O'Neal, an ordained Episcopal priest and journalist, writes that fatherless single mothers on welfare have spiritual and mental health issues requiring counseling, not just job training.
"Single mothers are more likely to have substance use and psychiatric disorders than women in the general population," she writes. "The problem. . . has its roots in a girl's relationship with her father which provides a blueprint for all other relationships with men and with the outside world. . . . If a girl grew up as a fatherless child, she is likely to experience some measure of depression."
A fatherless woman finding herself struggling as a single mother could also hold a grudge against God, O'Neal adds.

"It is very fine to talk about Christian socialism, and what you are going to do for the poor; but what have you done? Much of it is just chatter, chatter, and nothing else. But the godly, who feel that God is all, are, after all, those who care most for men; and, those who most firmly believe that the unbelieving sinner will be lost, are the men most anxious to have him saved."
- The Rev Charles Spurgeon, 1893.
Historical facts clearly prove the murderous evils of atheism and big government.
At a minimum, atheist dictators in the Soviet Union, Red China, Cambodia, North Korea, Vietnam, and Yugoslavia murdered 105 million people in the 20th Century, more than 60% of the mass murders, genocide and political murders in that time.
In comparison, only about 2% of the 169 million examples of democide in the 20th Century were due to religious conflict.
Also in comparison, the Crusades murdered only 1 million people over several centuries, the Spanish Inquisition only murdered 350,000 people over several centuries, and the witch hunts added up together only killed about 100,000 people from 1400 A.D. to 1800 A.D. In fact, before the 20th c...

The cast and crew behind the big 3-D animated movie MONSTERS VS. ALIENS believe the movie's feminist-tinged message about empowerment is not just for girls.
In the story, an innocent young woman about to get married accidentally finds herself growing to 49 feet, 11 inches tall, and having to save Earth and its people from a self-involved alien dreaming of cloning himself and establishing a tyranny with himself as the Ultimate Head.
"The movie's got an incredible message about finding yourself, your identity," said beautiful and talented Reese Witherspoon, who plays the heroine's voice.
