BLACK JESUS Exposes Strong Media Bias
By Dr. Ted Baehr, David Outten
BLACK JESUS did air Thursday, August 7 in spite of requests by Movieguide® and others that the offensive show be canceled.
Variety Magazine wrote, “Crossing the third rails of race and religion, BLACK JESUS is guaranteed to offend some people. In fact, one might accuse Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim of a certain naïveté in green lighting a project where the rewards, even in success, are likely to be overshadowed by the negative blowback.”
Variety goes on to say, “So while there’s an audience within the Adult Swim profile that should find BLACK JESUS to its liking, the show’s flock had better show up in reasonably good numbers (by latenight standards...

50 Years of the War on Poverty
By Jerry Newcombe
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the War on Poverty. It appears that poverty won that war.
Jesus said you will always have the poor with you. He also said, “For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat….to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”
In Christ’s day, Samaritans were half-breeds who were hated. To be called a Samaritan was an ethnic slur. Yet one day, Jesus told a parable where the hero was a good Samaritan. Jump forward to our day, and the term Samaritan is synonymous with a do-gooder.
In 1964, LBJ initiated the War on Poverty to help millions of Americans “escape from squalor and ...

Drugs Vs. Religion
By Jerry Newcombe
Americans are accepting pot in seemingly unprecedented ways. Even as it is becoming legal in more places, such as Colorado by an act of the voters a couple years ago, there are still consequences to face with the widespread use of marijuana. We still reap what we sow.
Just the other day, a headline from the Associated Press (7/26/14) read, "Pot seen as reason for rise in Denver homeless." The article states, "The Salvation Army's single men's shelter in Denver has been serving more homeless this summer, and officials have noted an increase in the number of 18- to 25-year-olds there." Just in the prime of their life, and they already need help.
I find this ironic because last month, comedian Bil...
Mendacity and Perfidy
By Dr. Ted Baehr, Publisher
The news media, whether consciously or unconsciously, by commission or omission, has supported the transformation of the United States from the Land of Freedom to the Land of Socialist Tyranny.
As Paul Johnson points out in his classic work MODERN TIMES about the 20th Century, the sea change in the intellectual community occurred in the 1930s when the press was supporting Joseph Stalin, who was killing millions of peasants and farmers in the name of Marxist, socialist communism. When Stalin opposed Hitler, who was doing his worst in Germany too, the press opposed Hitler. When Stalin switched and signed a treaty with Hitler, Duranty at the New York Times and other communists elsewhere ...
