Is Christianity Dead in Great Britain?
August 04, 2009

The number of Muslims in Great Britain increased 26.3% from 2004 to 2008, from 1.9 million to 2.4 million, but the number of Christians actually decreased 4.5% during that period, from 44.6 million to 42.6 million. Peter Hitchens, a journalist and broadcaster, believes this means that Britain "could soon become a Muslim country." "Christianity in this country is too feeble," Hitchens added. His comments echo those of The Right Reverend Paul Richardson, Assistant Bishop of Newcastle, who said that declining church attendance and the rise in multiculturalism in Britain means that "Christian Britain is dead." Alison Ruoff, an evangelical lay member of the Church of England, agrees that Britain is "sleepwalking" into an Islamic state. "Chr...

Movie Inspires Missionary Couple To Form Japanese Gospel Choirs
August 04, 2009

For those of you who say, "It's only a movie," consider the life of one missionary, Ken Taylor, a Filipino-born former nightclub entertainer. After he and his wife accepted Jesus Christ, they began to make short-term mission trips to Japan. Then, in 1997, they moved to Japan under the auspices of a ministry called World Venture, to become musical missionaries. In Japan, they discovered that the 1992 movie SISTER ACT starring Whoopi Goldberg about a lounge singer who helps some nuns form a choir putting religious lyrics to popular songs had inspired Japanese businesses and community centers to offer Gospel choir lessons. About 10 years ago, Ken formed his first "Black Gospel" choir composed mostly of Non-Christian people of Japanese ances...

Obama Wants To Give Constitutional Rights to Alleged Foreign Terrorists
August 04, 2009

Washington, D.C. - Obama administration officials told the Senate Armed Services Committee on July 7 that they plan to give some constitutional rights, including the adoption of the exclusionary rule against evidence obtained through coercion, to the 229 alleged foreign terrorists detained at Guantanamo, the US naval base in southern Cuba. Republican Senator John McCain of Ariz. opposes the plan. "I did not know, nor know, of any time in American history where enemy combatants were given rights under the United States Constitution," McCain said. McCain has proposed new rules that would make the procedures for the military trials of the Gitmo detainees resemble courts-martial. - Source: Newsmax, 07/08/09.   ...

Brazilian Court Rules Pedophilia Not Necessarily a Crime!
August 04, 2009

The Brazilian Supreme Court has ruled that adult sex with children is not necessarily a crime, "sparking a protest from the United Nations," LifeSiteNews reports. The court on June 23 "upheld the acquittal of several men who had paid two girls, 12 and 13 years of age, to have sexual intercourse with them, on the grounds that prostitution was not covered by child sex abuse statutes." What the misguided jurists on the court seem to forget is that many children are forced into prostitution, often by older and stronger criminals or because of terrible poverty. Also, underage children lack the mental development to be able to decide such things on their own to begin with anyway. "The decision is almost a license for abuse and exploitation," A...

Liberals Refuse To Halt Fairness Doctrine
July 23, 2009

Democrats on the House Rules Committee voted 8-4 along party lines recently to reject an amendment stopping the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from restoring the Fairness Doctrine on the airwaves. "Tonight freedom was blocked from getting even a chance to be voted on," Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) said. Restoring the Fairness Doctrine would give the federal government control over political speech on the airwaves, especially on talk radio. Recently, the FCC proposed rules promoting stricter oversight over radio programming. - Source: WorldNetDaily, 07/15/09.   ...

Male Chauvinism Epidemic Suggests Chivalry Is Dead
July 17, 2009

By Nina May, rwnetwork.net There was a time in our country when a woman had gallant men riding in to defend her honor. Since the failed feminist movement has destroyed these pedestals of virtue and reduced women to nothing more than dim reflections of the boorish men they seek to emulate, it is no surprise that chivalry has experienced societal obsolescence. Otherwise, we would be seeing the husbands, brothers, fathers, and sons of dishonored women rising up in righteous indignation, and just pure justified anger, at the way their wives, sisters, daughters, and mothers are being treated by the current crop of cads. When Hugh Hefner's misogynist, exploitive website posted a list of 10 conservative women who should be graphically raped f...

Protect Your Children from HARRY POTTER Occultism
July 17, 2009

By Dr. Ted Baehr, Publisher Imagine MOVIEGUIDE® giving a Harry Potter movie Minus Two instead of a Minus Four. The reason is simply this – HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE is one of the mildest Harry Potters in terms of violence and in terms of witchcraft. The witchcraft is less fun and appealing, and more of the state of being in a fallen world. Both the good witches and the bad witches don’t look like they’re having fun. There are also some direct encouragements toward cardinal virtues, such as Tom Riddle being told when he comes to Hogwarts not to steal. That said, it should be noted that even criminals have their own codes of honor and every religion has some virtues. Thus, the moral virtues in HALF-BLOOD PRINCE, there...

Ukraine Bans ‘BRUNO’ Movie!
July 16, 2009

The country of Ukraine, freed from the grip of the Communists, has banned the movie BRUNO as "morally dangerous." Nine of 14 members of Ukraine's culture commission voted for the total ban. "The film contains unjustified showing of genital organs and sexual relations," the ministry of culture said in a letter to the movie's Ukrainian distributor, "and shows heterosexual acts and homosexual perversions in an explicitly realist manner." The movie also has "sadistic manifestations which could damage the morality of citizens." Good for Ukraine! It is exactly correct in its description of the pornographic, completely unacceptable nature of this sick movie. Of course, this news may be no surprise to supporters of MOVIEGUIDE®, since our publ...

Fred Travalena – Farewell
July 15, 2009

By Judith Courtesy of The Flaming Nose Date: Monday, June 29, 2009 In the midst of the deaths of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson there was a new obituary added this week. Fred Travalena, famed impersonator, passed away Sunday after years of struggling with cancer. Fred never became a television icon and he certainly never rose to the monumental career heights of Michael Jackson, but he had a huge talent, a quick wit and a clever take on impersonations. He could do anyone and do them all better than anyone else. More importantly, he was a good man. I had the opportunity to work with him some 21 years ago on a promotional campaign touting the ten best vacation destinations in America. I had the big cheap thrill of select...
