If you tune into NBC this fall, better keep your watch safely on your wrist. Otherwise you might tune into their “Family Hour” at 8 p.m., stay for the “Blockbuster Hour” at 9 p.m., but then numbingly slip into their self-described “Adult Hour” at 10 p.m.
This is disconcerting, especially when we all know that “adult” is merely a euphemism for gross, sexual, and violent themed content. So, before you cheer at the 8 p.m. “Family Hour” watch out for what they may have in mind for an “Adult” hour.
We have all come to accept “spin” as a normal part of the political process. But now, “spin” is being used to hawk movies featuring stars from the pornographic movie business.
ZOMBIE STRIPPERS star Jenna Jameson recently appeared on ABC’s “The View” and spun that in the movie, “There’s a lot of political undertones against the Bush administration. And, that’s a part of the reason why I did the movie.”
Really? ZOMBIE STRIPPERS is political commentary? Who is spinning whom here? At least, you have another reason not to see this tasteless movie.
One of MOVIEGUIDE®’s favorite movies this spring is the Ben Stein documentary EXPELLED, which dares to expose the evolutionary academic community. Though most other secular movie critics blasted the movie, the real critics (the moviegoing public) “voted” the movie into tenth place in box office receipts the first weekend with a respectable $3.2 million.
That’s a spot that documentaries rarely hold. By comparison, Morgan Spurlock, the SUPER SIZE ME director, launched his anti-American movie, WHERE IN THE WORLD IS OSAMA BIN LADEN?, on that same weekend. His documentary only brought in $143,000. Furthermore, since they opened, Stein’s documentary was averaging more than $5,180 per theater while Spurlock’s movie was averaging le...
The average American child spends nearly 44 times more time watching TV rather than having good conversation with their parents, 1,680 minutes watching TV weekly, but only 38.5 minutes per week in good conversation.
As radio pundit and author Dennis Prager says, this is the Age of Stupidity!
“Let it be known to all of you … that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth… whom God raised from the dead… has become the cornerstone. And, there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

“I have a dream that Chinese leaders wake up one day, blink their eyes as if coming out of a daze, and say ‘Oh my God, what have we done?’ then look at each other at the same time and say, ‘Let’s go talk to the Dalai Lama.’”
Most Americans get married at some point, 78%, a new study by the Barna Research Group says.
The study also revealed that born again Christians get married at an even higher rate, 84%, but that people from other faiths and atheists and agnostics get married at lower rates, 74% and 65%, respectively.
Of course, marriage is an institution established by the God of the Bible, so it makes sense that those who follow that God are more likely to follow His commands and provisions.
The study also found that 25% of Americans have been divorced, or about one-third of those who have been married.
Another study, this time by British researchers, shows that people who believe in God are happier than agnostics or atheists. People become even happier the more they pray and go to church.
The researchers also found that religious people were better able to cope with disappointments, such as unemployment, divorce or the death of a spouse, than non-believers.
Adultery is most often cited as a sin by Americans, according to a survey conducted by Ellison Research.
Besides adultery, Americans in the study named racism, using “hard” drugs like heroin, cocaine or meth, not saying anything if a cashier gives you too much change, abortion, and homosexual activity as top sins.

One of Scotland’s most senior Catholic leaders has attacked the “gay lobby” in Scotland, saying there is a “huge and well-orchestrated conspiracy” against Christian values.
The Rt. Rev. Joseph Devine, Bishop of Motherwell and president of the Catholic Education Commission, said that secular activists, led by the homosexual lobby, wants to replace Christian values like truth and goodness with values like liberty and equality.
“We must resist being corrupted by secularism,” Bishop Devine opined.
