According to a survey of nearly 30,000 students in American high schools released earlier this week by the Josephson Institute’s Center for Youth Studies, the rates of teenagers who have admitted stealing, cheating and lying are still at “alarming rates.”
In fact, 82% of the 29,760 high school students admitted lying to their parents about something significant in the past year, and 64% said they had cheated on a test in the last year alone!
In other findings, 65% of students said they told a significant lie to their teachers in the past year, 56% admitted lying to their parents two or more times, 38% said they had cheated on a test two or more times, 37% said they had lied to a teacher about somethin...
“Since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of s...

Atheists and government officials have launched new attacks on Christmas and God in recent days.
In the most recent attack, the Democratic governor of Washington allowed a radical atheist group to put up a placard Monday in the state capitol near her office, joining a Christian Nativity scene celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and a “holiday tree.”
The placard by the Freedom From Religion Foundation extols “reason” and “the Winter Solstice.” The sing also says that religion is “myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.”
Of course, neither the Nativity scene nor the tree display attacks nor mocks atheism or secular humanism.

According to Engage Hispanics data, 20% of Hispanic parents with children ages 12 to 17 are themselves between the ages of 18 and 24, while only 9% of non-Hispanic parents between the ages of 18 and 24 have children in that age range.
Also, many Hispanic parents have additional children and are either still in school or working blue-collar, operative or clerical jobs. Among Hispanic parents with children ages 5 or younger, 24% are blue-collar or clerical workers, and 12% are students against 19% and 5% respectively among non-Hispanic parents of children the same age.

Almost two-thirds of Americans, 60%, interact with companies on a social media website like Facebook or MySpace, and 25% interact more than once a week, according to the 2008 Cone Business in Social Media Study.
Nearly all, or 93%, of Americans believe a company should have a presence in social media, while 85% believe a company should not only be present, but should also interact with its customers and prospects via social media.
Also, 56% of American consumers feel both a stronger connection with and better served by companies when they can interact with them in a social media environment.
When Americans were asked about specific types of interactions:
• 43% say companies should use social networks to “solve my problems”;
• 41% wa...
A LifeWay Research study found that 27% of Americans agree with the statement, “I believe it is possible to communicate with someone after they are dead.” However, among those who agree, only 8% strongly agree. Meanwhile, 55% disagree with the statement, including 39% who strongly disagree, while 18% don’t know.
It is difficult to tell from these statistics how many of those Americans who think such communication is possible have actually attempted it, but we may hope and pray very few. Trying to contact the dead through mediums is one of the most strongly forbidden acts in Scripture: “Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.” Lev. 19:31.
Nearly two-third, or 63%, of young adults age 20-29 said they would attend a church if that church “presented truth to me in an understandable way that relates to my life now.”
Fifteen percent of these attended church weekly as a child and have no current animosity toward the church, but 37% are hostile toward the church and Christians.
Four out of five, or 80%, of unchurched adults aged 20 to 29 in the U.S. believe a supreme being exists, while 75% claim the existence of God does or would impact their lives. Most of the younger unchurched actually do believe in God and that He is the God described in the Bible. A significant number, however, believe in God but are not sure the God of the Bible is the only God.
Young Adults, Aged 20-29 ...
The 17% of church members who are dissatisfied with how their church is helping them develop spiritually are most concerned about three elements of the weekend worship service.
Most, 81%, say the worship service does not provide enough in-depth study of the Bible. Sixty-eight percent say the service does not incorporate Bible teaching that helps them with everyday life. Finally, 70% do not feel the service is challenging or thought provoking enough.
Members generally satisfied with their churches list the same three elements, but with a much higher rate of satisfaction.
