Movie Attendance Plummets as Hollywood Turns to the Dark Side
July 25, 2008

Attendance at movie theaters has plummeted 4.7% in 2008 so far, despite the hoopla surrounding THE DARK KNIGHT, as Hollywood has turned to the “dark side” this year with dark movies and few uplifting family movies or no inspiring action thrillers with very strong Christian values. In the next three months, however, moviegoers will have a slate of family movies and Christian movies to choose, including a biography on the Rev. Billy Graham, BILLY: THE EARLY YEARS, and the next movie from the Christian filmmakers who brought us FACING THE GIANTS, entitled FIREPROOF and starring Kirk Cameron in a career-high performance. Comic book movies seem to be all the rage, but MOVIEGUIDE® is concerned about reports that some Hollywood filmmakers...

Cyberporn Generation, Part Two
June 23, 2008

Canada’s Macleans national news magazine reported recently that children as young as 8-years-old are viewing and getting hooked on pornography that’s easily available on the Internet. Effects of such pornography on children can include a warped sense of sex and romance, exposure to deadly sexually transmitted diseases, a negative view of women, acting out violent fantasies, and addiction that can interfere with school work, family life and friendships. “Coke users can get the drug out of their system, but pornographic images stay in the brain forever,” Dr. Mary Ann Layden, co-director of the Sexual Trauma and Psychopathology Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Cognitive Therapy, notes. How many more brutal sex c...

More Judicial Tyranny: U.S. Judge Accepts Homosexual Suit Against Bible Publishers
June 15, 2008

U.S. District Judge Julian Abele Cook, Jr. has accepted the suit from a self-described homosexual man from Michigan seeking $70 million from two Christian publishers for emotional distress and mental instability during the past 20 years from Bibles that identify homosexual behavior as sin and evil. Bradley LaShawn Fowler, a self-described homosexual, is representing himself. He claims the two publishers, Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, are misrepresenting the Bible. In a public statement, Zondervan said, “We only publish credible translations produced by credible Biblical scholars. We rely on the scholarly judgment of the highly respected and credible translation committees behind each translation and never alter the text of the translations...

Americans Think There Is No One Way to God – Jesus Says Differently
June 13, 2008

A survey recently released by the Pre Forum on Religion & Public Life says that 70% of American adults affiliated with a religion (including 66% of Protestants and a whopping 79% of Catholics) believe that “many religions can lead to eternal life.” That’s not what Jesus says! In John 14:6, Jesus tells His disciples, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Protestant and Catholic leaders better start teaching the real Gospel of Jesus Christ to their people. Apparently, only 34% of Protestants and only 21% of Catholics (!!!) believe the fact that Jesus Christ teaches us that He is the only way to God and eternal life in Heaven. Please make sure that you and your family understand the ...
