WOUNDED WARRIOR Review:
THE WOUNDED WARRIOR focuses on Abraham Lincoln and the similarities between him and George W. Bush. There are more similarities than one would expect.
Lincoln was one of the most hated American presidents in U.S. history. His election divided the nation. He was reviled in the press. Yet, he thought his role was to keep the nation united and remove the scourge of slavery. Many of Lincoln’s statements foreshadow the political philosophy of George W. Bush. What’s interesting about the movie is the wide variety of people interviewed who hate Bush’s excursion into Iraq until they’re forced to make the connections with Lincoln’s political philosophy, especially based on what Lincoln said on September 11, 1858.
Very interesting and well done on a very small budget, this documentary provides a fresh look at both presidents. The real negative is that some of the production quality becomes too eclectic in its attempt to cover up the deficiencies in budget and equipment. Otherwise, THE WOUNDED WARRIOR is well worth watching.
