PAHAPPAHOOEY ISLAND, WHAT ABOUT ME? Summary:

PAHAPPAHOOEY ISLAND’s “What About Me?” episode is a new childrens’s DVD about loveable puppets who seek a treasure and learn to work together. The production has clever moments and teaches a solid biblical lesson with strong Christian virtues.

PAHAPPAHOOEY ISLAND, WHAT ABOUT ME? Review:

The Muppet-style children’s DVD series PAHAPPAHOOEY ISLAND is releasing a new episode titled “What About Me?” The short DVD features a group of children seeking treasure. The treasure is God’s Word. However, purple furry guy Miller thinks, “What about me?” He wants all the treasure for himself. The children’s guide is Miss Ruby (voiced by Joyce Meyer) who has been imprisoned inside a map.

Ichabone Slink, a pink snake, and his mad scientist sidekick try to exploit the “what about me” desire to steal the treasure first. They use a newly created “what about me” device that makes people selfish. The children discover they must instead work together in order to stop Slink and free Miss Ruby.

PAHAPPAHOOEY ISLAND is a charming, gag filled story that should appeal especially to younger children. The message to care about others and to work together is a key theme and an important one for children to understand. The use of a mechanical device which makes people think only of themselves is not only clever, but helps young kids to understand an intangible concept in a tangible way. The songs in this episode are fun. Best of all, they point out the wicked slyness of the villain and reinforce the theme of working together.

Children and adults will enjoy this fun DVD. MOVIEGUIDE® commends the people behind it.
