American Bible Society Donates Bibles to Faith & Values Awards in Hollywood; ABS Leader To Pray at Event Honoring Inspiring Movies
The American Bible Society (ABS) has donated Bibles to hand out to all the Hollywood executives, producers, and actors attending the 20th Annual Faith & Values Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry, to be held Friday, Feb. 10, at the Universal Hilton Hotel in the heart of the worldwide entertainment industry.
Also, Dr. Joseph Crockett of the ABS has agreed to give the closing prayer at the event.
The Awards Gala honors the Best Movies for Families in 2011, the Best Movies for Mature Audiences, the Most Inspiring Movie and TV Program of 2011, the Most Inspiring Performances in Movies and TV in 2011, the $50,000 Kairos Prizes for the Most Spiritually Uplifting Screenplay by Beginning Writers, and the Best Movie and TV Program in 2011 Promoting Positive American Values.
“The American Bible Society has been a great friend to the Faith & Values Awards for many years,” said Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide®, which sponsors the Awards, also known as the Crystal Teddy Bear Awards.
“We are honored having Joseph conduct our closing prayer.”
Movieguide® is the family guide to movies and entertainment. Every year it hosts the Faith & Values Awards, which shows filmmakers and TV producers and executives that wholesome, family-friendly, spiritually uplifting, inspiring movies, videos, and programs usually are the most successful.
“After all,” Dr. Baehr noted, “the Bible, including the copies the American Bible Society is donating, is the most popular, most read, and most beloved book ever written.”
