Army Approves Atheist Concert at Fort Bragg

The United States Army has approved an atheism-themed concert on March 31, 2012 at Fort Bragg.
Originally scheduled for this year, the concert event was postponed when Sgt. Justin Griffith, a Bragg soldier and military director of American Atheists, decided the event wasn’t receiving the same support as a Christian concert in the past.
Griffith sees this concert as a turning point for military personnel who do not claim any specific religious traditions. Richard Dawkins, a famed atheist, is set to speak, along with performances by other musicians and entertainers.
Despite Griffith’s claims that Fort Bragg failed to give them the support Christian concerts received, Bragg spokesman Ben Abel says they will give the same support to this upcoming concert as the other private events it supports.

NASA Satellites Debunk Global Warming Theory

NASA has recently gained satellite data that shows the Earth atmosphere for the years 2000 to 2011, and the information shows much more heat being released into space than alarmist computer models have been predicting. This counters the idea that the Earth’s temperature has been increasing due to gases preventing heat from leaving the atmosphere.
The most recent computer models predict much less heat escaping into space than this satellite data shows it actually leaving. So, the satellites proved there are huge discrepancies between the real-world facts and what alarmist computer models have been predicting.
According to this new study, not only is more heat escaping the atmosphere, but also, heat has been escaping for longer than many scientists have predicted. The new findings will have a profound impact on the global warming debate due to the fact that many of the statistical predictions that support global warming have been proven wrong.

Showtime, Viacom Mock Christian Teachings at Comic-Con

Showtime is not a channel your children should watch. It’s probably not a channel adults should watch either.
Showtime, a pay service owned by CBS/Viacom, arrived at Comic-Con in San Diego last month worse than expected…and we weren’t really expecting much from them to begin with.
A new Showtime advertising campaign at the Comic-Con perverted Christian teachings in order to promote several of its for adult content programs. For example, along the side of one bus, Showtime plastered ads saying, “Showtime Saves” and “Love thy neighbor.”
Apparently, these misappropriations of Christ’s teachings were an abhorrent attempt to promote the sordid “love” affairs portrayed on Showtime’s awful series CALIFORNICATION.
“Of course, throwing Christendom under the bus is nothing new for Viacom,” reports Media Really Matters. “The company has worked tirelessly to undermine Judeo-Christian values for decades. However, this latest sanctimonious promotion may have finally pushed them over a cliff with millions of God-fearing Americans.”
Showtime might think itself clever by outlining their depraved characters in golden sun-ray halos, but this is more than irony. It’s blasphemy.

Pray for Persecuted Christians During Ramadan
On August 1, 2011, MOVIEGUIDE® will join Open Doors USA in a month-long campaign to pray with persecuted believers in Muslim-dominated countries.
In these countries, August marks the beginning of a 30-day Islamic fast called Ramadan, which may lead to more persecution for Christians in the area. All around the world, Christians are alienated, persecuted and killed for their faith in Jesus Christ, so it’s important for us to join with them in prayer.
“We have a great opportunity to pray for believers undergoing persecution because they live in countries without the same religious freedoms we are so blessed to have in the United States,” said Founder and Publisher of MOVIEGUIDE, Dr. Ted Baehr.
MOVIEGUIDE® encourages all believers to join us in this 30-day prayer campaign for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are undergoing persecution for their faith.
Very Religious People Are Healthier
A recent Gallup report states Americans who are very religious generally live healthier lives than those who are not religious.
These very religious Americans score higher in eating healthy, exercising regularly and smoking less than non-religious Americans. Even moderately religious Americans have been found to be healthier than non-religious Americans.
Although some are surprised by this fact, it really should not be a shock because many religious groups, especially Christians, view the body as a gift from God that one should take care of. By this estimation, it’s no big surprise that very religious Christians tend to live healthier lifestyles than those who are not religious.
