The comedy in THE PACIFIER is built around booby traps and practical jokes – those and the gadgets in the movie will make some imaginations spin. There is violence, but it is never scary. It resembles cartoons more than any of Vin Diesel’s action movies. Still, some younger children might find it scary when the evil spies hold Shane and some family members at gunpoint. Good and bad are clearly differentiated in THE PACIFIER, and the Navy SEAL is the good guy. There is a little crude comedy and some very light foul language, but mostly, THE PACIFIER is entertaining, exciting and has a warm ending that children will like.

THE PACIFIER is a satisfying family movie in the tradition of HOME ALONE.
Navy SEAL Shane Wolf, played by Vin Diesel, has a mission go awry and is then sent to protect a murdered CIA agent’s five children. Shane and the children have difficulty relating to each other at first, but when ninja spies break into their house to steal the dad’s secret project, everyone starts to work together. Shane teaches the kids discipline, they gain better self-esteem, and Shane begins to see some depth and importance in his life.
