More Detail:

A CHUCK E. CHEESE CHRISTMAS is a Holiday special streaming on Prime Video that follows the animated version of iconic restaurant mouse mascot Chuck E. Cheese and his ragtag group of anthropomorphic animal friends, including Jasper the Dog, Helen the Chicken, Bella the rabbit, and Munch the Purple thing. In this movie, Chuck E. and his friends fail in their Christmas Decoration delivery, and they notice the Christmas spirit is dwindling.

After contacting Mrs. Sandy Claus, the gang discovers that the dwindling Christmas spirit is affecting Santa. The group devises a scheme to throw a surprise party for Santa to raise his and everyone’s spirits. Unbeknownst to them, the elf Legomas wants to thwart them and return the elves to their glorious medieval fantasy roots of fighting trolls, rather than helping Santa with his goals of spreading joy and compassion for Christmas. After feeling defeated and showing the error of both of their ways, Chuck E. and Legomas team up to restore Santa’s spirits as well as the rest of the world’s spreading joy, compassion, and love during the Christmas Season.

Ultimately, this movie utilizes many classic Christmas movie tropes. For example, it uses the depressed Santa trope, with the main character trying to save Christmas through decorations, and Legomas is essentially a Scrooge-like character. However, the animation quality is better than expected, with no obvious mistakes and interesting attention to detail. They also use Christmas music as background music.

A CHUCK E. CHEESE CHRISTMAS contains a moral worldview. The entire premise is that Christmas is a time of joy, compassion, and love. When Legomas and Chuck E. fail in their respective goals of reviving the Christmas spirit, Santa sets everyone straight by telling them that Christmas is a time of giving and spending time with family, which is part of the Christmas story.

Another moral aspect of this movie is its portrayal of redemption. Chuck E. wants to redeem himself for the mistake he made early in the films; Legomas discovers that his old enemy, the Troll King, turned over a new leaf and embraces the Christmas Spirit fully and totally by volunteering for the needy and helping others. Legomas redeems himself for making mistakes throughout the movie, all of which are good moral values. On top of this, Santa and Mrs. Claus have one of the most wholesome, loving marriages, which adds to the moral worldview.

In addition to the worldview, one character stands out: Jasper the Dog. Where most of the dialogue and character interactions are corny, Jasper is not. Jasper makes many funny jokes, including ones talking about insurance being too expensive, a literal reference to the Pope, and so many fantasy movie references as insults to Legomas. There is no line from this character that isn’t quippy, sarcastic, or funny.

A CHUCK E. CHEESE CHRISTMAS contains a few concerning elements, including a character taking the Lord’s name in vain and mild cartoon violence, all done by Legomas, but nobody gets hurt. Also, both Lego and Chuck E. Cheese lie to try to get their way; however, their actions aren’t glorified. In short, despite some concerning elements, the movie is decently animated, entertaining, and acceptable for all ages.
