In a new Instagram video, former NFL star Tim Tebow shared a message about the power of faith over fear.
“People, they wear shirts that say ‘Faith over Fear, Faith Overcomes Fear,’ they talk about it, it’s in slogans, leadership seminars, and it’s important,” Tebow said in the video.
He continued, “I believe it’s biblical. But it doesn’t matter if you just say ‘Faith over fear.’ It’s not faith. It’s the object of our faith.”
“It’s not ‘Oh, my gosh, you have so much faith,’” he went on to explain. “But if you have faith in that chair, it’s not going to help you with your fear. Faith in that chair might keep you seated. It’s not going to help you overcome your fear of your adversity, of your doubt, of the pain of family members that are sick.”
“The object of our faith as believers is Jesus,” Tebow concluded. “That’s what overcomes the fear. Jesus is who helps us overcome the fear.”
Tebow frequently shares messages about faith on his social media. Movieguide® previously reported:
In a new social media post, football star Tim Tebow reminded people that their main audience should always be God.
“Growing up, I always wanted people to like me,” Tebow wrote. “I was what you would call a people pleaser. Today, while I still strive to do good things for others as we all should, I’ve come to realize that our main audience in life isn’t other people. It’s God.
“Be motivated not by what other people think about you but by what God thinks about you!” he concluded.
