The sixth ICE AGE movie is well on its way.
Disney revealed the teaser trailer for ICE AGE: BOILING POINT on June 4, Collider announced.
The new teaser shows our favorite extinct buddies Manny, Diego, Sid, Buck, Ellie, Crash, Eddie, Buck, Scrat (of course) and Baby Scrat as they blast out of a volcano to epic theme music.
The movie will come out on Feb. 5, 2027. The film was initially slated for release on Dec. 18, 2026, but its debut was delayed — potentially to avoid competing at the box office with DUNE 3 and AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, according to ScreenRant.
Earlier this year, ICE AGE voice actors Queen Latifah, Ray Romano and Denis Leary revealed a sneak peek of the new movie at CinemaCon.

The first-look footage showed Scrat and Baby Scrat as they “comically tussle over a precious acorn before Papa subdues his hungry offspring with a baby acorn, which it uses as a pacifier. This precious moment is interrupted by a looming volcano which erupts, sending the Scrats hopping from ice floe to ice floe to evade the spreading lava,” Animation Magazine said.
At the event, the actors also said their characters will have to take a trip to a lost world where new dangers — including prehistoric reptiles and lava — await them.
Romano, who voices Manny, the pessimistic mammoth, joked, “The real Ice Age didn’t last this long. When we did [2002’s] ICE AGE 1, I know I wasn’t wearing compression socks or reading glasses.”
John Leguizamo and Simon Pegg will also return to voice characters.
Baby Scrat may be a new surprise to many, but he actually made his first appearance in the 2022 spinoff series, ICE AGE: SCRAT TALES, which streams on Disney+.
Since 2002, the ICE AGE franchise has made over $4.9 billion globally, per Love Money. It’s the 20th most successful movie franchise in the world and outranks TWILIGHT. The most successful movie in the franchise is ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS, with $196,573,705, per Box Office Mojo.
The last mainline ICE AGE movie, COLLISION COURSE, came out a decade ago, and next year will mark 25 years since the franchise first launched.
First Showing reported the movie will be directed by animation producer/filmmaker John Donkin. He directed THE ICE AGE ADVENTURES OF BUCK WILD spin-off and produced on the other ICE AGE franchise movies. It is produced by Lori Forte with animation by 20th Century Animation.
The BUCK WILD spin-off, which came out on Disney+ in 2022, had a limited budget, staff and time period for production. It had a 19% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 32% audience score.
