For Korie Robertson, the phrase “I don’t know” holds a powerful reminder.
“Can you believe the most common three-word phrase in the English language is ‘I don’t know'” the DUCK DYNASTY star shared on social media. She learned the fact on her family’s “Unashamed” podcast and said that her guess was “How are you?” because of how often people use it when greeting one another.
“But the more I’ve sat with this, the more it feels exactly right, especially in the world we’re living in now. I find myself saying it more than ever, and maybe that’s not a bad thing,” she continued, reflecting on “I don’t know.”
Robertson understands that no matter where you turn, voices are vying for your attention.
“You can listen to one podcast and hear one perspective, then listen to another and hear something completely different,” she said. “Add in AI and social media, and sometimes it’s hard to know what is real anymore. And not just on big world topics, but in our personal lives too. The hard situations. The questions we wish we had answers to. Why does God allow certain things? Why doesn’t He step in the way we think He should?”

Robertson concluded her post with a story about Mother Teresa, which reminded her of a Bible verse.
“A man once asked her to pray that he would have clarity, and she refused. She told him she had never had clarity. What he needed, she said, was faith,” Robertson said. “I would love some clarity on a few things right now. Wouldn’t you? But clarity isn’t really what we’re promised. What we’re promised is that God is good. That He is real. That He loves us deeply. That He is with us and He is for us.”
The prophet Isaiah wrote in Isaiah 55:9, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
“It’s more than okay to admit that we simply don’t know. He does,” Robertson finished.
Robertson often uses her social media to encourage her followers in their faith and family lives.
“Take some time to tell the ones that mean the most to you in life just how amazing they are, go for a coffee date, send a text with a list of all of your favorite things about them and lots of lovey emojis, FaceTime them and tell them they are doing a great job being a human,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post, reflecting on how proud she is of her children.
In a world that constantly demands answers, Robertson’s message is a comforting call to surrender, and admitting our limitations allows us to lean into God’s higher perspective, finding rest in the truth that He holds the answers we cannot see.
