WHEN CALLS THE HEART Christmas Movie Among Hallmark’s Holiday Lineup for 2019

By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor

Hallmark’s series WHEN CALLS THE HEART will release a Christmas movie this holiday season along with a plethora of other Christmas movies as per Hallmark’s usual roster.

Showbiz Cheat Sheet highlights what to keep an eye out for regarding the movie:

So far, details about this year’s WCTH Christmas special are sparse. We do know that it’s currently titled When Calls the Heart Christmas. That’s the same title as the 2016 Christmas special. But this will be an all-new movie featuring the show’s current stars, including Erin Krakow, Pascale Huton, Jack Wagner, Kavan Smith, Kevin McGarry, Paul Greene, Chris McNally, Martin Cummins, and Andrea Brooks.

Lori Loughlin won’t appear in the Christmas movie in wake of showrunners writing out her character after her alleged involvement in the college admission scandal.

Last year’s Christmas special movie aired on Christmas Day and scored staggering ratings with nearly 5 million viewers.

WHEN CALLS THE HEART received a Movieguide® Award (which aired on Hallmark Channel in February 2019) for that Christmas special for all its worthwhile redemptive and family content.

In 2018, Hallmark released an impressive 36 movie lineup to ring in the holiday season with stars like Kathie Lee Gifford, Kellie Pickler and staple Hallmark faces like Candace Cameron Bure.
