HANNAH MONTANA/MILEY CYRUS: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS CONCERT

Watch:

What You Need To Know:

HANNAH MONTANA AND MILEY CYRUS: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS CONCERT stars pop singer and actress Miley Cyrus of Disney Channel’s popular series HANNAH MONTANA. Miley is perhaps the hottest act in the music business now. Her father is Billy Ray Cyrus, the star of the popular MOVIEGUIDE® Award-winning show DOC. In this concert movie, Miley first appears as her alter-ego, Hannah Montana, to sing and dance. Then, she appears as herself to sing some of her own songs. In between her appearances, the Jonas Brothers sing a couple songs. The movie also offers behind-the-scenes footage of the concert tour.

The music and dancing in HANNAH MONTANA AND MILEY CYRUS is jaunty and energetic without being salacious. The songs with Miley as herself seem more personal, especially the song “I Miss You,” which is about Miley’s grandfather who recently died. Miley talks about the song and her grandfather, and there are a couple light references to Heaven. Because of this song, you could say that this concert movie has a light Christian worldview. The other songs are much more secular, so parents should be cautious with their children under 12, especially younger ones.

Content:

(C, B, Ro, V) Light Christian worldview with moral elements, including references to Heaven in a song dedicated to a close relative who has passed away, marred by some Romantic elements; no foul language; very light comic violence when men fall down while wearing high heels in a race to win concert tickets; no violence; no sex scenes but songs about romance and much dancing, but nothing salacious; no nudity, but female dancers wear leotards under short skirts that fly up when they dance; no alcohol; no smoking; and, nothing else objectionable.

More Detail:

HANNAH MONTANA AND MILEY CYRUS: BEST OF BOTH WORLDS CONCERT stars pop singer and actress Miley Cyrus of the Disney Channel’s popular series HANNAH MONTANA. Miley is perhaps the hottest act in the music business right now. Her father is Billy Ray Cyrus, the star of the popular MOVIEGUIDE® Award-winning show and Epiphany Prize winner DOC. In this concert movie, Miley first appears as her alter-ego, Hannah Montana, to sing and dance. Then, she appears as herself to sing some of her own songs. In between her appearances, the Jonas Brothers sing a couple songs. The movie also offers some behind-the-scenes footage of the concert tour, including a scene of Miley teaching her dad one of her most personal songs.

The music and dancing in HANNAH MONTANA AND MILEY CYRUS is jaunty and energetic without being salacious. The songs with Miley as herself seemed more personal and less corporate, especially the song “I Miss You,” which is about Miley’s grandfather who recently passed away. Miley talks briefly about the song and her grandfather, and there are a couple light references to Heaven. Miley and her father share a moment alone where Miley teachers her dad the guitar chords to this song.

Because of this song, you could say that this concert movie has a light Christian worldview. Even so, most of the songs are about fulfilling your dreams and a few of them are about boy/girl relationships. This gives the movie a Romantic aspect, in the philosophical sense. Therefore, MOVIEGUIDE® advises parents to be cautious with their children under 11 or 12, especially the younger ones.
