More Detail:

In JUST LIKE A WOMAN, Gerald Tilson is a young American banker working in London. His wife leaves him and takes the children after she discovers a cache of lingerie that does not belong to her. Little does she know, it belongs to Gerald. He moves into a boarding house, begins a sexual affair with the middle-aged, recently divorced landlady and then reveals to her that he is a transvestite. Graphic fornication, partial nudity and a positive portrayal of transvestitism highlight the rest of this movie, which goes to great lengths to prove this perverse lifestyle acceptable, which it is not (see Deuteronomy 22:5).

Supposed to be a comedy, JUST LIKE A WOMAN is not funny. If intended as a human drama of love and identity, it is insubstantial. This illustrates the movie’s fatal flaw: it cannot decide if it is a comedy or a drama. Ultimately, it ends up coming across as a feature-length sitcom, giving light treatment to a serious topic. However, it is easy for one to discern the immoral message and reject it. A more dangerous possibility is that viewers will not think twice about the more common problems of casual divorce, adultery and the consequences suffered by the children involved.
