What You Need To Know:

A FATHER’S LEGACY is a drama about two men from different worlds, whose lives collide. Wounded in a robbery, a young man named Nick breaks into the home of Billy, an elderly, reclusive Vietnam vet. Nick makes demands at gunpoint. Billy has nothing to lose and not much will to live. He has a chance to escape and turn Nick into the police. However, Billy looks deeper into Nick and sees a young man who needs help. Billy spends time with Nick. He teaches him how to fish and how to fix things, while he doles out words of wisdom. To his surprise, their friendship challenges Billy to look at his own life and make peace with his past before it’s too late.

More Detail:

A FATHER’S LEGACY is a dramatic story about forgiveness, redemption and second chances. Nick Wolfe is broken desperate young man who turns to crime to solve his problems. Billy is a lonely, isolated Vietnam veteran who’s waiting to die. Their lives cross when Nick breaks into Billy’s home and holds him hostage by gunpoint. Billy thoughtfully weighs the situation. When he gets the chance to escape and turn Nick in, he hesitates. Do these two men from completely different lives have more in common than they think?

Nick is shot in an armed robbery. He breaks into Billy’s home to get some help. Nick is an angry, rebellious young man down on his luck. Billy is a bitter, isolated, lonely Vietnam veteran with nothing to lose. Nick barks out orders until he passes out due to the gunshot wound. Billy has a chance to escape, but hears an unconscious Nick reveal what’s bothering him. The old man decides to nurse the young man back to health.

Nick becomes conscious and continues with his angry tirade. Billy’s compliance and even kindness begin to wear down the young man’s animosity. The two become friends. Both men are afflicted with barely functional social skills, so their road has been a bumpy one. Billy teaches Nick how to fish. More importantly, he teaches him the joys of fishing. Being an old man with regrets, Billy has a lot of advice to give Nick. However, hot-headed Nick has a hard time accepting it. He also has some advice of his own to give.

Nick isn’t the only problem Billy has. Thugs from an oil company threaten, intimidate, and do violence to Billy to force him off his oil-rich property. The thugs turn up to set Billy’s property on fire. Nick lets them know the old man isn’t alone anymore. In a moment of heat with a loaded gun pointed at the thugs, Nick must control his rage, or become the kind of man he has hated his whole life. Meanwhile, Billy is forced to look at his own life and make peace with his past before it’s too late.
