HANGING HEART

Content:

Profanities and obscenities; prostitution, promiscuity and homosexuality; violence and murder; and, Christianity mocked.

More Detail:

Denny is a struggling actor who continually gets caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. That is, he finds himself holding murder victims after they’ve been murdered. When he was ten-years-old, it was his mother. Now, it’s his girlfriend Cathy, an actress also appearing in a play with him.

Accused of murder, Denny’s landlord and attorney friend Elliot comes to his rescue. He bails Denny out and prepares to defend him in court. However, when the play’s director, Joanne, winds up dead, too, Denny is thrown back in jail.

Elliot, meanwhile, hires a private detective to help him nail down the case. Denny gets out on bail again, takes over the investigation and hooks up with Julie, another actress in the play with whom he has a promiscuous relationship. Eventually, Denny learns that Julie is a hooker being coerced by the police to obtain evidence that will convict him.

The story plays itself out with a very unexpected ending. Elliot, the respected lawyer who prays to God and confesses Jesus, turns out to be a homosexual murderer. He has had a perverse infatuation with Denny, an unrequited love that became an obsession and ultimately a raging jealousy of Denny’s female lovers. So he killed his competition in the sick hope that it would somehow drive Denny into his arms.

If this movie makes you feel sick, move over. You have company. Please pray that God will take HANGING HEART out of distribution. It was screened at the American Film Market, and, God willing, may not reach the theater screen.
