TRICK

What You Need To Know:

TRICK is a sophomoric, boring tale with silly homosexual characters basically looking for a place to engage in homosexual sex. A young writer who pens musicals goes to a homosexual strip club, picks up a go-go boy, and the two partake on a citywide tour to find a place for sodomy. Containing homosexual activity and nudity, it gives no valid reason to support its claims of life-long relationships beyond their one-night stand.

Content:

Strong homosexual worldview of seeking a homosexual relationship; 18 obscenities, 7 profanities, sexual talk, talk about human excrement, & a few vulgarities; no violence; homosexual kissing & foreplay, implied heterosexual fornication, stripping, & homosexual flirtation; women in underwear, upper female nudity, rear male nudity & extensive upper male nudity in male strip clubs & homosexual bar; alcohol use; smoking; and, implied urination & sounds of urination.

More Detail:

TRICK is a sophomoric, boring tale with silly homosexual characters basically looking for a place to engage in homosexual sex. Gabriel is an aspiring musical theater writer. He is best friends with his former girlfriend Katherine (played by Tori Spelling), but he hasn’t had a homosexual lover in a long time. So, Gabriel tries out a local cruise bar, where he becomes smitten with a go-go boy named Mark. The two look all around the city for a place to have anonymous sex, but they decide that they might have a deeper relationship.

The only amusing aspect of this movie is the talent found in Gabriel’s music. The photography, direction, acting, and script all are sub-par. Spelling is downright annoying as a crazy, talkative actress. Mark gives no action which would indicate that Gabriel could trust him, and in fact makes his living as a stripper, literally giving away himself to the masses for a dollar. Both homosexual and straight characters seem primarily interested only in sex. Thankfully, TRICK will only have a small audience and play to only a few theaters. It is poorly done and doesn’t support its claim that a meaningful relationship can come out of what starts as an initial offer of only anonymous sex.
