What You Need To Know:

STOLEN DAUGHTERS:  KIDNAPPED BY BOKO HARAM is an HBO documentary about the 276 Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped April 15, 2014 by the Islamic terror group named Boko Haram, or “Western Education Is Forbidden.” Fifty-seven girls escaped with some awful stories to tell, while 103 were rescued during negotiations with the Nigerian government, but the other girls remain missing. The filmmakers were allowed to go into a protective facility to speak with the girls, but they weren’t allowed to ask about the trials they suffered in the jungle. However, some girls gave the filmmakers their diaries. The filmmakers also talk with some women who’ve escaped Boko Haram. After an extended time in the government facility, the government releases the girls to study at the American University of Nigeria.

STOLEN DAUGHTERS doesn’t make pronouncements about the Muslims and the Christians, but it’s clear from the movie’s interviews that the Christians are the counselors, the caretakers, the helpers, and of course a large part of the American University. STOLEN DAUGHTERS is a clear expose of the evils of Islam and the need for Christian missions and ministry.

More Detail:

STOLEN DAUGHTERS:  KIDNAPPED BY BOKO HARAM is an HBO documentary about the 276 Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped April 15, 2014 by the Islamic terror group named Boko Haram, or “Western Education Is Forbidden.”

In April 2014, the world was shocked when the Islamic terror group Boko Haram raided a school in the Nigerian town of Chibok and took about 276 girls into the jungle. Fifty-seven girls escaped with some awful stories to tell, while 103 were rescued during negotiations with the Nigerian government, but the other girls remain missing. However, the Chibok girls are merely a small number of the more than 100,000 forgotten women who’ve been kidnapped by Boko Haram. Boko Haram has also kidnapped young boys to turn them into terrorists and mothers and fathers to be their slaves.

After being rescued after three years, the Chibok girls were put under government protection and cut off from the world. The filmmakers were allowed to go into the protective facility to speak with the girls, but they weren’t allowed to ask about their trials and tribulations they suffered in the jungle. However, some of the girls gave the filmmakers their diaries about what happened in the jungle.

The filmmakers also talk with some of the other forgotten women who escaped Boko Haram. One of these women was pregnant and has a young boy, whom she names Mohammed, who dies from HIV. She has HIV too from her Boko Haram captor from whom she escaped. Two boys who escaped Boko Haram choose her as their surrogate mother, so they become an impoverished family one the streets of one of the most dangerous cities in Nigeria.

One girl in the government facility had her leg blown off in the government bombing of Boko Haram. Another girl only wants to see her mother, and everyone is afraid to tell her that her mother is dead. After an extended time in the government facility, the government allows relatives to see the girls. Then, the government eventually releases the girls to study at the American University of Nigeria, a private nonprofit college supported from the United States. They join the 57 girls who escaped at the American University of Nigeria.

Although STOLEN DAUGHTERS doesn’t make pronouncements about the Muslims and the Christians, it is clear from the movie’s interviews that the Christians have hope, that they are the counselors, the caretakers, the helpers, and of course a large part of the American University. Meanwhile, the Muslims are either terrorists like Boko Haram or survivors who are very fatalistic. Nigeria had one of the largest Christian populations, but the Muslims have been moving down from the north to conquer the country through violence and cruelty. The president of Nigeria recently was a Muslim who tacitly condoned some of the atrocities. For instance, one girl described that she knew one captive that 10 men raped who was all bloody and died in her own blood. She also said that anyone who helped the girls escape was tortured. One old man was slowly killed by cutting off his hand, then a day later his ears and then a day later his mouth until he finally died from loss of blood and shock.

STOLEN DAUGHTERS is a clear expose of the evils of Islam and the need for Christian missions and ministry.
