About MOVIEGUIDE®
For over three decades, MOVIEGUIDE® has been the voice of faith and family in Hollywood. Founded on the conviction that media shapes culture — and that culture can be redeemed — we exist to encourage the film and television industry to produce more films that are not only morally responsible, but artistically excellent and financially successful. Our work reaches 82 million families worldwide through reviews, research, and our annual MOVIEGUIDE® Awards broadcast.
We are a small, mission-driven team of about 17 people who show up every day not just for a job, but for a calling. We believe that entertaining storytelling, biblical truth, and the health of the American family are not at odds — they belong together.
This role is a ministry position as much as it is a professional one. We’re looking for someone who understands both.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and faith-committed Staff Bookkeeper & CRM Coordinator to join our team. This is a dual-function role at the intersection of financial stewardship and donor/audience relationship management — two areas that are essential to our organizational health and kingdom impact.
You’ll work closely with our accountant and leadership to keep our finances accurate, compliant, and well-organized, while also helping us steward the relationships we have with the donors, partners, and supporters who make this ministry possible. This position is open to candidates who are local to the Camarillo, CA area as well as those working remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
What You’ll Do

- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
- Perform monthly credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly documented, categorized, and approved
- Process and categorize expenses in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal policies
- Assist in monthly and year-end close processes in coordination with our accountant

- Track restricted and unrestricted fund activity with accuracy and transparency
- Process staff expense reports and vendor payments
CRM & Donor Data Coordination
- Maintain and update our donor and contact database with accuracy and consistency
- Record gifts, generate acknowledgment letters, and support donor stewardship workflows
- Run reports on giving trends, lapsed donors, and campaign performance
- Collaborate with our content and development teams to ensure data integrity across systems
- Assist with gift entry during campaigns including our annual MOVIEGUIDE® Awards season
Who You Are
First and foremost, you share our faith. MOVIEGUIDE® is an explicitly Christian ministry, and this role requires a genuine, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with our biblical worldview. You understand that financial faithfulness is an act of worship, and that every donor relationship is a sacred trust. Consistent with MOVIEGUIDE®’s mission and faith commitments, preference will be given to candidates who affirm and live by a Christian faith and lifestyle.
You are trustworthy and discreet. You handle sensitive financial and personal information with integrity, maturity, and discretion — no exceptions.
You are organized and consistent. The details matter to you. You find satisfaction in clean records, accurate reconciliations, and systems that work.
You are a team player. We’re a small, close-knit team. You’ll pitch in, communicate well, and care about your colleagues — whether down the hall or across the country.
