Hobby Lobby Court Victory Becomes Part of New EchoLight Movie
By Anthony D’Amore, Contributing Writer
A new, documentary movie from EchoLight Studios, exploring the “erosion” of religious freedom in America, will highlight Hobby Lobby’s recent Supreme Court victory about the right of an employer, based on religious beliefs, to refuse to fund birth control or certain contraceptives that may end the life of an unborn baby.
Creating ministry opportunities while bypassing movie theaters in its initial showing, this faith-based movie is set to hit big screens in churches across the country on September 1.
Entitled ONE GENERATION AWAY: THE EROSION OF RELIGIOUS LIBERTY, the upcoming documentary is a sobering look into rising ...
Which Is Better? Great Seats or Great Movies?
By David Outten, Production Editor
AMC Theaters is spending $600 million to upgrade a number of theaters to large recliner seats with wide rows. Up to two thirds of an auditorium’s seats can be removed to fit the recliners.
I recently saw a movie in one of these theaters where the seating is reserved. You picked which recliner you wanted before entering the theater. AMC plans to raise prices in the theaters with deluxe seating next year.
Another modern approach is the Studio Movie Grill. It combines the movie and restaurant experience. We have one of these in Atlanta, and it’s a very nice modern facility, but as a movie purist, it’s disturbing to try to find your credit card an...
Would You Like To See an Elephant Fly?
Disney Orders New Live Action DUMBO
Disney has just announced that a live action film adaptation of the beloved 1941 animated movie DUMBO is in the works.
The classic story entails a baby elephant being dropped off at the circus by the stork. Everyone is surprised when the baby elephant reveals his large ears, but he soon becomes the laughing stock of the circus and gets the demeaning nickname “Dumbo.” It’s a heartwarming tale of family and sacrifice that will soon be brought to a new generation in the live action adaption.
Disney has enlisted Ehren Kruger, writer for the TRANSFORMERS franchise, to write the script and produce the movie. Also set to help produce the movie is Justin Spri...
Destroying the Seed
By Dr. Ted Baehr, Publisher
Recently, while watching a war documentary called THE HORNET’S NEST, it became clear, if the future of the country is its children and grandchildren, many of the best and brightest are being removed from the Creation mandate. To put it very simply, for those who believe the Bible, Satan is always attempting to destroy the seed: the future generations.
In THE HORNET’S NEST, it’s clear that some of the best and brightest died fighting for their country in Afghanistan. This raises a lot of issues. Especially considering the current submission to Shariah Law in many areas of society. The Devil’s efforts to destroy the future can also be seen in the millions of babies who’ve been...

Study Links Watching TV to Premature Death
By Job Garcia, Contributing Writer
A recent study shows a link between watching a lot of television and premature death.
The study, conducted in Spain, surveyed 13,200 college graduate adults, who were around 37 years of age when the study began. During the eight years the adults were followed, a total of 97 deaths occurred.
The study discovered that adults who watched several hours (three or more) of television daily were twice as likely to become deceased over the study period, compared with those adults who only watched television for an hour or less.
The study also discovered that the total time sitting (which included time spent watching television, using a computer, or driving) o...

With the strong January and February showing of FROZEN and great box office on THE LEGO MOVIE, 2014 appeared headed for a banner year coming into the summer nine percent ahead of last year. Then, as the weather warmed, the box office cooled.
This summer’s box office is off by almost 15 percent. Part of the problem has been a lack of staying power. Second weekend box office drops have frequently been in the 60 percent range.
Disney, who averaged nearly $180 million per movie last year, is averaging $87 million per movie this year. There will be no 2014 Pixar movie. THE GOOD DINOSAUR got pushed back to 2015.
Family oriented animated movies are struggling this year. Wit...
Lionsgate Films premiered its new political documentary, AMERICA: IMAGINE THE WORLD WITHOUT HER, in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday night.
The movie is based on the book by co-director Dinesh D’Souza’s, whose previous documentary, 2016: OBAMA’S AMERICA, became the second most successful political documentary of all time in 2012, behind Michael Moore’s FAHRENHEIT 911.
“This film attempts to make a moral defense of America against other Americans,” D’Souza told a packed house of VIPs and conservatives at LA Live’s main theater.
He encouraged the audience to get involved in Hollywood and the media.
“[Leftists] in Hollywood and the media have been shifting the goalposts,” he said. “We have to engage this cultu...

Confidence in Television News Hits New Low
A June 2014 Gallup survey on American confidence in various institutions shows that television news has hit an all-time low of 18 percent – falling from 46 percent confidence in 1993.
Confidence in the Christian Church, however, has fallen more modestly from 53 percent to 45 percent in the same time period – understandable because of the church’s ineffectiveness at reversing some of our current moral decline.
Meanwhile, confidence in the military actually rose from 68 percent to 74 percent during the period. As could be expected, people trust small business three times more than big business (62 percent to 21 percent). The presidency has fallen from 72 percent confidence in 1991 to...
