What You Need To Know:

In GOD’S COUNTRY, Megan is a high-powered, get-the-job done representative of an investment bank who puts together big deals. She’s as tough as nails when she puts together deals. As a result, people bend to her will. Now, she’s confronted with the biggest deal of her life. Two giant Japanese investors want to take over a section of the Mojave desert to build a new Las Vegas. The problem is, some of the parcel is owned by a ministry. Although they’re unable to make the mortgage payments, the ministry doesn’t want to sell. If she stays six days and doesn’t see the value of the ministry, he will sell before the property is auctioned.

Jenn Gotzon delivers a great performance in GOD’S COUNTRY. She’s perfect for the role. Most of the other acting is also good. The plotline is positive and redemptive. The Gospel is woven into the story in a very plausible way. Some dialogue is stilted, but most is very good. GOD’S COUNTRY is worth watching, entertaining, convicting, and transformative.

Megan is a high-powered, get-the-job done representative of an investment bank who puts together big deals. She’s as tough as nails when she puts together deals. As a result, people bend to her will. Now, she’s confronted with the biggest deal of her life.

Two giant Japanese investors want to take over a section of the Mojave desert to build a new Las Vegas. The problem is a thousand acres of the parcel are owned by a ministry. Although they’re unable to make the mortgage payments, the ministry doesn’t want to sell.

Her boss sends Megan to negotiate with the minister, Eden Graham. Graham makes a deal with Megan. If she stays six days in God’s country and doesn’t see the value of the ministry, he will sell before the property is auctioned.

At first, Megan is a fish out of water. Her Ferrari isn’t built for the country roads, and her ultra high heels don’t do any good in the desert. Graham keeps holding her to her promise. She finds out that the ministry team are not all rubes. The son, Jake, went to Harvard, but returned with ideas on how to make the ministry even better. Soon, it becomes clear she has to choose between her selfish greed and the loving people around her.

Jenn Gotzon does an extremely good job in GOD’S COUNTRY. She’s perfect for the role. Having known Jenn for years, it’s gratifying to see she can play a person who’s nothing like herself in real life. Most of the acting is good. The plotline is positive and redemptive. The Gospel is woven into the story in a very plausible way. Some of the dialogue is stilted, but most of it is very good.

GOD’S COUNTRY is worth watching, entertaining, convicting, and transformative.
