Kathie Lee Gifford Asks Fans To Pray For ‘Sweet Friend’ Sarah Young

By Movieguide® Contributor

Kathie Lee Gifford asked her followers for prayers for “Jesus Calling” author Sarah Young, who is currently battling Lyme disease.

“Hi everybody,” Gifford wrote under a photo of her and Young. “Instead of my regular scripture posting, I am asking for prayer for my sweet friend, Sarah Young, who has probably blessed many of you with her writings based on ‘Jesus Calling.’”

She continued, “She is struggling right now and needs prayer. She has been battling Lyme disease for years, very courageously and quietly and continuing to be faithful to the messages God gives her for us. Would you send her a message today please and ask that Jesus heals her? She is just precious.”

Young’s publisher recently updated fans on her health, writing, “We received the hard news that Sarah’s health is rapidly failing. We know that Sarah really believes in the power of prayer and prays for her readers every morning. Now, we have the precious privilege to lift up Sarah and her family. Please join us in prayer.”

Gifford frequently uses her social media platform to spread her faith. In a recent post, she marked the one-year anniversary of the publication of “The God of the Way,” which she wrote with Rabbi Jason Sobel.

“It’s been a joy to help spread God’s word!” she wrote

Movieguide® previously reported on “The God of the Way”:

In a recent interview, Kathie Lee Gifford and her friend Rabbi Jason Sobel talked about their book The God of the Way and Gifford’s companion movie, THE WAY.

The God of the Way takes a modern look at the people and stories from the Old Testament and analyzes how they continue to shape us today. It also maps the story of God’s plan for humanity with historical and cultural insights.

“They’re epic stories,” Gifford said. “First of all, they were real people. Their stories and epic, and they’re almost ripped from the headlines today.”

“All these stories are relevant today. We can learn from the mistakes of Sarah and Abraham. Every one of these stories is precious and included in the scriptures for a reason, and I just wanted to find a brand new way to tell these ancient stories.” Gifford concluded.
