Emily Moffat had a “full-circle moment” on THE PRICE IS RIGHT. Her mom, Lana Dalton, appeared on the hit game show 40 years before.

Moffat’s husband, Jacob, shared the incredible true story on social media, which went viral.

“Here’s a crazy true story…My wife was on THE PRICE IS RIGHT. Watching her name get called was unreal. Total chaos, cheering, lights, cameras. She spun the wheel, met Drew Carey, and lived the dream every kid has watching daytime TV. A full-circle moment for our family: her mom was on the show 40 years earlier,” Jacob wrote.

The mother-daughter duo sat down with TV Insider to speak about their experiences on the show.

Dalton told TV Insider, “I was living outside of Boston, Massachusetts. At the time, I had a 2-year-old, and I was expecting Emily, when I wrote for tickets and got them, and then I was going to visit my twin sister in California, and we were going to go to THE PRICE IS RIGHT together. We didn’t make it into the morning taping, so we just stayed, and somebody gave us their tickets from the morning show for the afternoon show. So, we moved up in line, and then for the afternoon taping, I was the last eligible contestant, and my sister was not eligible.”

She continued: “We sat in folding chairs at the end of the audience, and then I was called down. I had watched that show for three months prior to going on, so I felt kind of sure that I would do well if I was called down, and sure enough, I got called down, and I went right up and played Hole-in-One. Of all the games, I did not want that one, but it was for a car, so I was pretty good at guessing most of the items I got within one. I was the second line back. And, of course, I didn’t make it so, but I really had a lot of fun getting called down and getting up on stage. I mean, that was the highlight.”

Moffat then shared her story.

“I was really lucky to be invited by a friend who had gone through the audition process, and they said, ‘You can bring up to six friends.’ And she invited a number of us. We know each other from school, our children go to school together, and I was the only one who was available. But I was really excited to go because, since I was a kid, I wanted to go on THE PRICE IS RIGHT, and say I was on this show when my mom was pregnant with me,” she explained.

“And in fact, 20 years ago, my husband and I tried to get in on our honeymoon,” she added. “It was the last day of our honeymoon, and we got there too late, so we were at the very, very back of the line, and they didn’t have space for us. Since that time, I’ve always wanted to go back and tell that story, but it was the invitation from a friend who had already jumped through those hoops. And I was lucky enough to go with her and then got on the show.”

Though her mom didn’t win, Moffat did and took home a Volkswagen, just like what Dalton played to for.

“I go, ‘I think God is being very funny,'” Dalton said.

Moffat’s win came in 2022, but she and her husband decided to share the story now after they had to sell in the car she won. A video shows their family at the time watching her episode.

“This is very nerve-wracking,” one of her sons said. They all celebrated when they saw her win.

What a sweet moment for Moffat and her mom!
