A theme park centered around a stand-up comedian? Nate Bargatze is well aware of how funny that sounds.
“I’m the Mickey Mouse,” he joked to The Wall Street Journal of his plans for Nateland, a Nashville theme park based on his life and career.
Bargatze admitted, “There’s times I don’t know if I can wrap my head around it,” but said at the end of the day, “I’m in the ticket selling business. That’s all I’ve ever been in.”

The clean comedian has been talking about Nateland for years, but it looks like plans for the proposed park are finally in motion. His team has picked a site in the Nashville area and secured most of the land through an investor, but have not yet made the location public.
Tax incentives have also been identified for the project, on both state and local levels, and Bargatze’s team will begin raising capital this summer.
In a 2025 statement about Nateland, Felix Verdigets, CEO of Nateland Entertainment, said, “Nate and Nateland are committed to good, clean, family-friendly entertainment. We live in middle Tennessee and recognize the need for a major attraction for people of all ages in the Nashville area. We’re excited to see what our partnership with Storyland Studios will bring.”
Bargatze has also been clear about his commitment to creating a family-friendly environment for parkgoers, recently telling TODAY, “I want to have stuff for families to be able to go to and create memories. So, you know, why not?”
In an interview with Fox News, he explained that the idea for the theme park came after he began selling out arenas and wondering what might come next.
“If I was going to just focus on arenas or that kind of thing, it felt like it was going be too much me,” Bargatze said. “I wanted to focus on a place that I could have for people to bring their families to, and destinations to create memories with your families. I don’t think there’s a ton of that.”
That focus on fun for the whole family is part of the rollout of his latest project, a movie titled THE BREADWINNER.
“I talked to all the theaters, and we have a Nate rate discount for everybody…special pricing, lower prices. Just because everything’s expensive, and we want everybody to come out,” Bargatze explained.
Nateland might sound like a funny idea, but comedy has always been what Bargatze does best!
