THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS is a wonderful, crowd-pleasing, moving science fiction adventure, with a strong moral, redemptive, patriotic worldview celebrating life, love, family, sacrifice, and community, but the movie has lots of action violence, a scary villain and much peril involving an infant, so caution is advised for older pre-teenage children.

THE WILD ROBOT is an incredibly heartfelt, entertaining, humorous animated story about a robot falling in a storm from a plane and eventually having to take care of a young, orphaned gosling on an isolated island. WILD ROBOT is a very strong, adorable affirmation of a mother’s love and of kindness being a virtue, with strong elements of a Christological allegory.

MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN is a heartrending, faith-affirming drama about the true story of a 12-year-old girl suffering from a very serious medical disorder. The cast and the filmmakers do a beautiful job making this story come alive.

THE INCREDIBLES is another incredible animated movie from Pixar and Disney, about two retired superhero parents who must battle a villain targeting their family. Beautifully animated, THE INCREDIBLES is full of exciting energy, fantastic fun, and humorous hilarity, with a very strong redemptive, Christian worldview full of many positive moral messages.

BREAKTHROUGH is a must-see, entertaining, powerful, convicting, heartrending story about the real-life incident of a boy who fell through some ice and had no pulse for a longer period than any doctor thought possible when he then miraculously revived. Each character, believers and unbelievers, undergoes a tremendous journey in BREAKTHROUGH, an inspiring movie that will make you laugh and cry.

WONDER is a family drama about Auggie, a young boy with a facial deformity who’s entering school for the first time after being homeschooled by his mother. The movie looks at Auggie’s first year in school from his perspective and the perspective of those around him. WONDER is a terrifically empathetic, uplifting movie that will bring tears of joy, but there’s brief, mostly light foul language.

I REMEMBER MAMA is the classic 1948 movie directed by George Stevens about a Norwegian family in 1910 San Francisco and the mother, who holds them together, played by Irene Dunne in one of her best roles. I REMEMBER MAMA is a beautifully crafted family drama with much humor and many poignant moments. It’s a wonderful salute to motherhood that also shows family is the bedrock of civilization.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC is the most successful musical in history with a brilliant performance by Julie Andrews. It has a profound Christian message about seeking God’s will for your life and is as clean and wholesome as can be.

LITTLE WOMEN is Louisa May Alcott's classic story of four sisters in Civil War era New England. While the strong religious themes in Alcott's book are toned down, the movie does contain positive Christian characters & actions, strong parental figures, chaste courtships, and especially winning performances by Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst and Claire Danes.

THE BLIND SIDE is a compelling, feel great drama that tells the true story of Michael Oher, a homeless young black teenager who is welcomed into a caring Christian family. Though there are unneccessary elements requiring caution, this wonderful drama is a faith filled, truly inspiring movie with overt Christian values.
