Country star Carrie Underwood is counting her blessings.

“I can’t believe I get to live here,” she captioned an Instagram video showing a fence covered in American flags and green fields. “Thank you, Lord #GodBlessAmerica #Grateful #TN.”

Underwood often shares photos and videos of her Tennessee farm, showing her produce and the farm’s livestock.

“I think if I had to, I could be self-sustained at home. I love growing things,” she told Fox News. “If I had all the time in the world, I would…not really need to go to the grocery store for too much. But it’s a lot of fun. You know, I love our chickens. We have cows. We have sheep. We have donkeys. We have horses. I have my garden, and it’s a great way to connect with the earth. That’s my contribution to the family.”

The country singer continued, “I feel like a lot of other responsibilities are mine. We have a farm manager who is wonderful…He’s taking care of my sheep while I’m gone. He looks after the horses and things like that. We do as much as we can, but I’m obviously not there all the time, and neither is my husband, so we do have help.”

In another interview with Us Weekly, Underwood explained that life on her farm keeps her grounded, despite her high-profile career.

“When I’m away [for work], I’m like Cinderella at the ball. I’m a princess, and it’s great. And then I come home, and I’m covered in dirt [and] poop,” she joked. “It’s just the polar opposite. I’m cleaning up after everybody and barefoot in the kitchen. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Underwood is also open about her Christian faith. In a recent interview with the Christian Post, the AMERICAN IDOL judge told aspiring Christian artists, “You don’t have to…sell your soul to make it in the entertainment industry. You are going to have to stand strong in your faith and remember who got you here, because it wasn’t you.”

Speaking about the competition show’s “Songs of Faith” theme night, Underwood said, “I mean, what’s not to love [about this night]? I respect ABC and AMERICAN IDOL so much for being bold in this theme, because it’s not easy. I feel like in the world of entertainment in general … it’s not easy.”

“But I also love that it was a gentle way,” she continued. “It’s songs of faith, and it was kind of what that means to you as hopeful. So it’s not like we were making everybody sing about Jesus. It’s kind of like you could take that and sing something inspirational that means something to you.”

Underwood does not shy away from sharing both her faith and her patriotism with her fans.
