DESPICABLE ME
Quality:
****Content:
+1 Moderately questionable elements. (Discernment required for young children.)DESPICABLE ME is a very witty, heartfelt animated movie about an extremely sinful character transformed by the love of three little girls. The ending to DESPICABLE ME is so uplifting and redemptive that it overshadows some of the action violence, slapstick comedy and light scatological references.

THE LION KING
Quality:
****Content:
+2 Moderately questionable elements.A magnificent example of Disney animation, THE LION KING is an heroic tale of good versus evil which embodies many Christian allegorical elements. The sinister usurper Scar plots to kill his brother and nephew so he can become King himself. While there are several minor areas which call for discernment in THE LION KING, the good far outweighs the bad, and the film conveys a clear message of hope, reconciliation and appreciation for the majesty of creation.

101 DALMATIANS (1991)
Quality:
****Content:
+2 Moderately questionable elements.Acclaimed as one of Disney's best feature cartoons, 101 DALMATIANS features comical dogs and nonsensical humans in a romantic detective story. This delightful, heart-warming story transcends a sense of cartoon reality and promises to be fun for the whole family.
IN BRIEF
101 DALMATIANS features comical dogs and humans in a romantic detective story which begins when four-legged Pongo and his master, Roger, fall in love with Anita and her dog, Perdita. Roger and Anita marry, and puppy love leads to a litter of 15 Dalmatian puppies for Pongo and Perdita. When it comes time to sell the puppies, wicked Cruella De Vil demands all 15. When Roger refuses, Cruella hires two Cockney crooks to steal the puppies. Roger and Anita resort to all sorts of measures to locate the stolen pups. Finally, Pongo issues a "twilight bark," which locates the puppies in a deserted mansion on the outskirts of London. Pongo enlists the help of a cat, a horse, and Colonel, the dog to rescue a total of 99 Dalmatians whom Cruella had gathered to make a rare fur coat. Safely back at Roger and Anita's house, the newlyweds ultimately decide to keep the whole bunch.
101 DALMATIANS is a delightful, heart-warming story that transcends cartoon reality. The voices of the caricatures uniquely compliment the personalities and comically resemble their impersonators. Best of all, the movie proves the premise that good does triumph over evil when good people work together. Don't miss this action-packed adventure that is fun for the whole family!
