By doing this, she helped countless Christians apply the message of salvation to their everyday lives, making the message of Jesus relevant and appealing to modern society. SOUL SURFER is an inspiring, powerful story about young surfer Bethany Hamilton, who overcame great obstacles when a tiger shark took her arm while she was surfing. SOUL SURFER is an inspiring, powerful story with a wonderful performance by AnnaSophia Robb about a courageous young woman who has deep faith in Jesus Christ.

SARAH’S OIL is an exciting, heart-rending, terrific western set in the early 1900s about a young African American girl who’s given property by the government that’s being allotted to all members of the Creek Nation, including their former slave families. Right from the beginning in SARAH’S OIL, it becomes clear that everybody wants Sarah’s property because they all think it might contain lots of oil but will Sarah’s faith triumph?

HARRIET is the incredible story about how Harriet Tubman became Harriet Tubman, the woman who saved thousands of slaves and brought them to freedom before the Civil War. HARRIET is an exceptionally well-made movie with a strong Christian worldview, but it does have intense scenes and some foul language.

BREAKTHROUGH is a must-see, entertaining, powerful, convicting, heartrending story about the real-life incident of a boy who fell through some ice and had no pulse for a longer period than any doctor thought possible when he then miraculously revived. Each character, believers and unbelievers, undergoes a tremendous journey in BREAKTHROUGH, an inspiring movie that will make you laugh and cry.

MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN is a heartrending, faith-affirming drama about the true story of a 12-year-old girl suffering from a very serious medical disorder. The cast and the filmmakers do a beautiful job making this story come alive.
DOLLY PARTON: HERE I AM gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at some of Parton’s biggest hit songs, as well as her movie career and personal life. DOLLY PARTON: HERE I AM is informative, but fairly surface-level; big fans of Parton might be disappointed at the lack of revealing information. The documentary has a moral worldview, promoting Parton’s kindness and humanitarian work, but contains some light Feminist elements, a brief discussion of premarital sex, two scenes featuring alcohol, and three instances of strong language. HIDDEN FIGURES is an engaging, encouraging, uplifting salute to three African-American women who contribute greatly to the 1960s NASA program during the Space Race with Communist Russia. Led by three fantastic actresses, HIDDEN FIGURES is an uplifting movie that exemplifies a positive way to stand with Christian strength and grace in the face of opposition, but caution is advised for older children due to many light obscenities and one strong profanity.

AUDREY’S CHILDREN tells the incredible true story of Dr. Audrey Evans, a pediatric oncologist who worked tirelessly to revolutionize the treatment of neuroblastoma, a form of nerve cancer usually found in children under 5, as well as establish the first Ronald McDonald House. AUDREY’S CHILDREN includes references to God and Heaven, but has one instance of strong foul language and some lying and sneaking; so, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.
