Carolina Hurricanes defenseman K’Andre Miller shared a special moment with his newborn son as his team advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals.

A video posted by ESPN’s SportsCenter on Instagram sees Miller holding his son with tears flowing down his face as the defenseman let reality sink in.

Miller’s son was born on May 2, 2026.

“Our little baby boy has arrived on May 2nd, 2026 and life hasn’t been the same since. We’re completely in love and soaking in this new chapter. We love you Kashton!” the 26-year-old shared on social media.

On Tuesday, Kashton’s mom, Addison, shared several photos of their little family over the last month.

“Kashton, our sweet little baby boy was born on May 2, 2026. It’s been one month of loving on you & I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us,” she wrote in the caption.

The couple announced the news of their pregnancy on April 11 in a post that read, “A bond that lasts forever 🤍 ♾️ 1 month until little guy is here.”

The Carolina Hurricanes are currently playing the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup Finals.

This past season, Miller was traded from the New York Rangers to the Hurricanes. Since his trade, the Rangers have done worse, and clearly, the Hurricanes have found their stride on the ice.

According to Sports Illustrated, Miller has “totaled 37 points with eight goals and 29 assists. The offensive production from Miller was mostly good with New York as well, but he was able to have a much better year than his previous two.”

Even with the 45 points scored this season, that’s not why the Hurricanes picked him up.

Defensively, Miller has shone the brightest as he has attained eight assists and is +14 on the ice in the playoffs.

“K’Andre is a defenseman who we feel is a very strong fit for the way we play,” Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, said last July. “He is just approaching his prime and we are confident that he will excel in a Hurricanes sweater.”

This postseason has cemented a defining chapter in Miller’s life, both on and off the ice. As the Hurricanes battle the Golden Knights for the Stanley Cup, Miller isn’t just playing for a championship ring anymore — he is playing for the growing family cheering him on from the sidelines.
