Two new cast members have been confirmed for Season 2 of Netflix’s yet-to-be-released LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE reboot.

“Rachelle Lefevre (NORTH BY NORTH) and Charlotte Sullivan (LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME) have inked deals for series regular roles in Season 2,” Deadline reported

Lefevre is set to play Eva Beadle, the town’s teacher, who is “open-minded, passionate, forthright and brave,” as well as “well-educated, well-read, adventurous, generous of spirit [and] a world-traveler.”

Sullivan will fill the role of Margaret Oleson, mother of Nellie Oleson.

“Beautiful, high-energy, charming, unfiltered, fun and funny, with a quick wit and gallows humor, Margaret adores her daughter fiercely and completely, but also fears losing her love,” Deadline described.

The role of Nellie was also recently cast; ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING actress Willa Dunn will play Laura Ingalls’ schoolyard bully.

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE will premiere this July, but the show has already been picked up for a second season.

“We are delighted to renew this beautiful reimagining of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE for a second season ahead of its Netflix debut,” Jinny Howe, Netflix’s head of US and Canada scripted series, said in a statement. “The exceptional work by [showrunner] Rebecca Sonnenshine and the entire cast and crew on Season 1 has established a rich foundation of storytelling for years to come. With its hopeful spirit and emotional authenticity, we’re confident that LITTLE HOUSE will deliver even more of what fans truly love.”

Sonnenshine has been vocal about her love for the book series the show is based on, as well as her desire to create something heartwarming for families to watch together.

“The spirit of the [original] show is going to overlap,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “We’re also using a little bit of the history of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s real life, which the show did as well… and there are things we incorporated in the show that are from outside the books, that were part of her life, or a part of history at that time.”

Sonnenshine continued, “I always describe the series and the books as a love story about a family. Maybe people see themselves in this family, or maybe they see a family that they want to be a part of. They spend all their time together, they support each other, they love each other, they fight sometimes, but it’s a really enduring and heartfelt story.”

The first season of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE premieres on Netflix July 9.
