The LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE Netflix reboot is in the works, and the show just revealed a few more cast members.
“Netflix’s LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE has announced exciting new cast members who bring beloved book characters and fresh faces to life,” a post from the LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE Instagram account began.
The announcement continued, “Jocko Sims will play Dr. George Tann, the generous and kind-hearted pioneer physician with a charming bedside manner that makes him a connector within the community. Laura Ingalls Wilder knew Dr. Tann in real life and wrote about him in Little House on the Prairie.”
Sims is currently known for his role in the series NEW AMSTERDAM.
The post also shared that Warren Christie will play John Edwards, a “mysterious Civil War veteran who catches the eye of all the women in the county.”
Additionally, Meegwun Fairbrother will play Mitchell, “a tender and hardworking Kansas farmer who’s built the most impressive homestead in the county,” while Alyssa Wapanatâhk plays his “beautiful, opinionated” wife, White Sun, who has “a sharp sense of humor.” Wren Zhawenim Gotts will play “Good Eagle, Mitchell and White Sun’s imaginative daughter known for her storytelling.”

Sims took to Instagram to share his excitement for his role on the show.
“Picking up a stethoscope once again! I’m honored to step into shoes of the real-life Dr. George Tann, the black doctor and pioneer who saved the lives of the Ingalls family during their journey,” he shared. “Thank you to @Netflix and @CBStvStudios for bringing his story to the screen! Now, off to cowboy camp! 🤠👨🏾⚕️🐴”
The new LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE series has announced other leading cast members over the past month as they prepare for filming. Alice Halsey will star as Laura Ingalls. Luke Bracey will play Charles Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald will play Caroline Ingalls and Skywalker Hughs will play Laura’s sister, Mary Ingalls.
“Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West, this fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical Little House books offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier,” a description of the show reads.
The new LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE series was first announced on Jan. 29, but an official release date has not been announced yet.
