Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan Carter delivered a powerful message to a local church about depending on God daily.
“We need daily dependence on God,” Carter declared in a video on Instagram. “We need community like this, where we can come in spaces and be honest and be vulnerable with each other, because remember that my story — like the enemy thought he had me in isolation. He wants to keep you in the darkness. He wants to keep you in that shame, he wants to keep you in that guilt, he wants to keep you in that place where you don’t feel like you’re going to anybody else.”
But, the athlete emphasized, “God said, ‘We’re not meant to do life alone; it is not good for man to be alone.'”
Carter vocally shares his faith, and last week, he hosted a youth camp in Rochester, New York, where he delivered a message about how “we are more than what we do.”

“Had the privilege of capturing a youth football camp hosted by Atlanta Falcons running back @_nathancarter5 right here in Rochester, NY,” a joint post between Carter and a local Rochester photographer read. “This camp was about so much more than football. It was a reminder that we are more than what we do. More than an athlete. More than a title, a job or a label. Above all else, we are sons and daughters of the Most High God. It was inspiring to see young athletes being encouraged not only to grow in their sport, but also in their faith, character and purpose.”
The post concluded with Romans 8:37, which reads: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Last month, Carter spoke to a group of students, reminding them that only Jesus can satisfy.
“Jesus nourishes us, satisfying and meeting all of our needs,” he said. “That Jesus is the one who came to live a life that we could not live and to die the death that we deserve to die, inviting us into a real, flourishing relationship with Him, so that we will experience abundant life, not just in heaven, but here on earth.”
In some exciting personal news, the athlete and his wife, Madison, are expecting their first child in December after dealing with infertility.
Praise God for how Carter faithfully uses his platform to proclaim the gospel.
