Falcons running back Nathan Carter wants people to “come and see” the good news of Jesus Christ.
“When we look at the world, through our phones, news channels, or television, we often see violence, destruction, persecution, and negativity,” he wrote in a recent Instagram post. “It’s easy to get caught up in the idea that this is all there is, that beauty and goodness are nonexistent around us. I’m not denying that these things exist. The brokenness in our world is real. But I want to invite you to look at the world differently…not by ignoring what’s wrong, but by intentionally focusing on the good, on hope, on something greater.”
“If the world discourages you, I understand. The good news is that there is hope. Instead of dwelling on what’s broken, we can turn our eyes toward the source of restoration. Specifically, someone greater: Jesus,” he emphasized.
Carter then shared two Bible verses, the first being Psalms 66:5: “Come and see the wonders of God; his acts for humanity are awe-inspiring.”

The second verse, John 1:39, reads, “‘Come,’ he replied, ‘and you will see.’”
Carter continued:
The brokenness in the world doesn’t define the goodness of our Savior. We serve a God that is still holy in the brokenness, still worthy in the brokenness, and still good in the brokenness. Don’t let your mind or your words dwell on all that is shattered around you or within you. Focus on the goodness and the awe-inspiring wonders of God. Let your voice proclaim the One who came to restore it all. Sing praises to the God of restoration. Release your worship to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
“Jesus invites us to come and see what the world cannot offer. His beauty. His splendor. His greatness. His peace,” the athlete added. “The greatest act ever done for humanity was God Himself entering our broken world, touching broken lives, and restoring what was lost. On the Cross, He paid the penalty for our sins and restored our broken relationship with the Father. Through His resurrection, He breathed life into the dead and broken.”
“Yes, brokenness exists. But Jesus is still on the throne. Instead of focusing on the brokenness, come and see Jesus, the one who makes you whole, and who will one day restore all that has been broken,” Carter concluded.
At the beginning of the season, the rookie showed his worth, putting up “nine carries for 63 yards and an explosive 43-yard touchdown against the Titans” in a preseason game.
“He plays with a fierce running style,” head coach Raheem Morris said. “He’s hard to get down to the ground. He showed it a couple times tonight. He carries the ball, and we’re very fired up to have him. He runs really tough. He’s a hard tackle, there’s no doubt about that.”
The Falcons face off against the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday at 9 a.m. ET.
No matter what happens on the field, Carter has made it his goal to not only score touchdowns but to win souls for Jesus Christ.
