NASCAR legend Kyle Busch tragically died from severe pneumonia and sepsis late last month, and his wife, Samantha, has expressed her gratitude to those who have reached out and prayed for her family.

“As a family, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you,” the mom of two wrote on social media. “The prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives. While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you.”

Her husband passed away on May 21.

Despite being the midst of such tragedy, Samantha and her two children have felt so much love.

“The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain,” she continued. “Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people. There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone.”

“From family and friends to fans and complete strangers, thank you for showing up for us. Thank you for loving our family so well,” she concluded. “Thank you for loving Kyle. Thank you for honoring him. We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful.”

Along with his wife, Kyle is survived by his two children: Brexton, 11, and Lennix, 4.

Brexton is on a mission to become just like his dad to be the next NASCAR legend.

The family celebrated Brexton’s birthday days before Kyle’s death.

“Happy Birthday Brexton!!! Your mom & I are so proud of who you’re turning out to be! You’re the best kid on & off the track, you amaze us every day. Keep doing what you’re doing and there is no limit to what you’ll accomplish! Love you buddy!” Kyle wrote on Instagram on May 18.

“11 years of loving you, cheering you on, and trying to figure out how you grew up this fast,” Samantha posted. “Happy birthday to my sweet boy. Watching you become this driven, funny, kind-hearted little man has been the greatest gift. So proud of you every single day, Brex. No matter how tall you get or how fast you drive… you’ll always be my baby.”

Please continue to keep the Busch family in your prayers.
