THE CHOSEN is about to enter into its sixth season, a feat that the cast and crew wasn’t sure would happen.
“Honestly, we did not know that there was going to be a fifth episode of Season 1. We started off, we had four episodes, and so the whole thing is, is that if you got a story, go tell it, because you don’t know what’s going to happen,” one of the crew members told Movieguide®.
Paras Patel, who plays Matthew, called it a “privilege and honor” to tell the story of Jesus on a “global platform.”
“But more importantly is how the world has caught on to our hearts, because we believed in the show from the beginning,” the actor said, “when it was a web series, and to see it now branch out to what it has, and how it’s changing people’s lives. We’re making a good impact, and we’re going to continue to do that.”
Season 6 of THE CHOSEN will premiere exclusively on Prime Video beginning Nov. 15, 2026, and will drop new episodes through Dec. 6, 2026.

The upcoming season will portray Jesus’ final hours before his death.
“The hour has come. Before the sun sets, Jesus of Nazareth will be dead. Season Six captures the historic events of Jesus’ final day through the lives of those who love Him — and those who condemn Him. Pharisees call it justice. Romans call it peace. Followers call it murder. But in the face of loneliness and death, Jesus stands resolute in his plan that has always led to one place: the cross,” a synopsis of the season reads.
“Everyone knows the basics of this part of the story, but not everyone knows the ‘why’ of the crucifixion and the extraordinary events of these 24 hours,” Dallas Jenkins, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of 5&2 Studios and Creator/Executive Producer of THE CHOSEN, said in a press release. “We realized this not only deserved a season of television but a standalone full-length theatrical event as well. We wrote and filmed all of it with this in mind.”
For Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus, filming Season 6 was especially taxing.
“It was a one-of-a-kind experience,” Roumie told Fox News Digital at ChosenCon earlier this year. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life — both professionally and personally as a human being.”
“I spent a lot of time asking the Lord to show me what He wanted people to see and what He wanted them to experience and if it was at all possible for me to try to experience a fraction of a fraction of what He went through,” he added. “I was willing to offer myself in that way, and He gave me some really challenging experiences on set, physically and emotionally.”
It’s incredible to see how THE CHOSEN has grown from a small, crowdfunded TV series to one of the most popular biblical series of all time.
