Ahead of TOY STORY 5’s release, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen got together to share their favorite lines and childhood toys.

In the interview with The Backstage Experience, Allen shared his favorite Buzz line first, in his Buzz voice: “You are a sad, strange little man and you have my pity.’ That was an ad-lib,” he added.

Hanks, who plays Woody, said, “Mine is ‘No, no, no, no. Hey, come on, guys!’ Because I say that five or six times through every one of every one of the sagas and chapters.”

Allen’s favorite toy was a Daisy Pump BB Gun.

“My older daughter found one on the dark web because I kept bringing it up,” Allen said, adding that he doesn’t what happened to his original toy.

“I think my I think eventually my parents took it away from me because I was shooting people’s windows out,” he joked.

Hanks’ favorite was a “Roto Craft.”

“It was sold as a thing you could throw and it would come back to you and if you did it exactly perfectly — in fact did and the first time I did it and it came back to me I thought this is a miracle. I threw it seven more times until it got stuck up in a tree and that was the end of my experience with Roto Craft,” he said.

Allen shared his response to Woody’s aging in TOY STORY 5, which is shown by a bald spot where his painted-on hair has rubbed off.

Allen recalled, “In the recording he goes, ‘How would I age? I’m a toy.’”

Hanks added, “The bald spot, look, that’s not from age or mileage. I said that hat goes on and off and on and off and on and off and on and off. Eventually you’re going to have to take a Sharpie to it in order to in order to lose the cradle cap.”

Besides the chance to see favorite characters again voiced by Hanks and Allen, fans are also excited to hear Taylor Swift’s new song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” in TOY STORY 5. The song came out with a music video with clips taken from the new movie.

“It’s such a good song,” Joan Cusack, who voices Jessie, told USA TODAY. “I love this movie so much, so I’m so glad that it resonated with her and she wanted to write a song for it, because it means so many more people come to see the movie.”

The song became the most-streamed country song in a single day by a female artist in Spotify history, Mandatory reported. On Apple Music, the track became the biggest country single of 2026 and broke Apple’s record for a soundtrack single based on first-day plays. It also had the biggest global first-day streaming debut of any track on Amazon Music this year.

The movie comes out on June 19.
