Armie Hammer is an actor and nepo baby accused of cannibalism fantasies and sexual misconduct and was cancelled for it.
Jesus was nailed to a cross to save the world from its sins — He made the ultimate sacrifice.
Do these people sound the same to you? One with common sense or a smidgen of respect for faith would say no, but to Hammer, they do.
“Look, dude, I’m already on the cross,” he recalled telling his father. “The nails are in my hands. I’m not getting off this cross no matter what we do. And the more I struggle, the longer I’m going to be up here.”
It’s a terrible insult to compare his personal trial — which may have been well deserved — to Jesus’ sacrifice. Jesus committed no sin and deserved no punishment. Yet, He died for our wrongs.

Hammer acknowledged talking about cannibalism and “cutting pieces” off a woman he was interested in as a sexual kink in private messages but has never been charged with a crime and has denied all accusations of criminal activities, rape and other sexual misconduct. His texts to one woman talk about making her his slave, branding her and the other messages are very graphic. Discovery+ even launched a documentary about the scandal, called HOUSE OF HAMMER, Variety reported.
Kanye West has also compared himself to Jesus. He appeared on Rolling Stone wearing a crown of thorns. Like Hammer, THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS’ Erika Jayne compared her own suffering to Jesus’. She posted an image of Jesus dying on the cross and compared her legal and personal issues to Jesus’ suffering, E! News reported.
In 2013, Chris Brown compared himself to Jesus after he had an altercation about a parking space. He shared a photo of Jesus on the cross and said, “Painting the way I feel today,” The Independent reported.
Madonna has also received a lot of backlash after she suspended herself on a cross with a crown of thorns for her 2006 Confessions tour. The Vatican censured her for it, CBC reported.
“It is disrespectful, in bad taste and provocative,” Rev. Manfredo Leone of Rome’s Santa Maria Liberatrice Church said. “Being raised on a cross with a crown of thorns like a modern Christ is absurd. Doing it in the cradle of Christianity comes close to blasphemy.”
Hammer says he’s slowly made progress to rebuild his career. If he keeps these insensitive reflections coming, that “progress” will disappear.
