SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’s marketing team has done it again.

This time, it’s with a global “Spidey Tracker” until the movie’s release on July 31. The tracker was leaked by a fan and no one knows yet what the Spidey Tracker tracks, Comic Book Movie reported.

In a video from Spider-Man’s pal Ned on Spideytracker.com, he shares a glimpse of a map that allows users to share their “Spidey sightings” and a news area for BRAND NEW DAY meetups and the Web Watch, about bad guys terrorizing cities.

It’s not clear what the sightings are. It could be stuntmen performing feats in public places across the globe. It could be Tom Holland or other cast’s press tours leading up to the movie. Or it could be simply anything anyone sees that relates to Spider-Man.

“The press tour that we are about to go on is humongous,” Holland said earlier this year. “I’m not going to lie and say that I’m not daunted by the travel and the number of events we are going to. But one of the things that I love, especially for Spider-Man, is that the movie is all about community.”

He added, “All of these stops that we’re doing, we are working in cultural events, community events, and there will be charitable components,” he continued. “When you can promote a movie but also shed some light on amazing causes, that’s what really makes a difference.”

Could that be a hint?

BRAND NEW DAY’s synopsis reads, “It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him — and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him — sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see.”

In April, Holland revealed that the movie feels like a mystery, which probably has to do with this anonymous villain.

“Even SPIDER-MAN is a little bit at odds and lost and is like, ‘What is going on?'” Holland told Esquire back in April. “We’re just trying to find ways to make this movie feel like a detective movie.”

Sadie Sink is confirmed to be in the movie, but her role is unknown. Fans speculated she would play telepath Jean Grey, who is not classically a villain.

As we still have a month and a half left to go until the release, maybe more hints will be revealed soon.
