Christian influencer Lindsey Gurk is getting ready to try out a new job: author.
“I’ve been sitting with this news, trying to find the words, which I find ironic considering words are kind of my thing,” she joked in a recent Instagram post. “But this one? This news? This is different. Signing with a publisher for my first book isn’t just a milestone. It’s the thing I almost talked myself out of a hundred times.”
Gurk explained that she often worried that her story was “not good” or that “no one cares,” getting bogged down in self-doubt.
“But then I realized this story is not mine to hold onto…and WHAT IF it could actually help someone?” she continued. “So, with open hands and an open heart I’m surrendering to the process and choosing to move forward despite the fear.”
The influencer shared that the book was written in her “darkest season,” touching on topics like “depression, anxiety, perfectionism” and “grief.”

“I’m writing this book for [my past self],” Gurk continued. “I’m writing this book for YOU. And in an odd turn of events that I didn’t expect (but fully welcome), I’m finding this book has led to a deeper understanding within me as well. It’s full of real stories, hard lessons, and truths I’ve learned that I hope will help you as much as they’ve helped me. I’m not writing this as someone who knows all the answers, but as someone who is still discovering them right alongside you.”
She concluded, “May God bless these words and the lives of those who read them.”
Gurk has previously spoken about her mental health battles, telling Smiley Movement that her “Get Your Pink Back” brand “is my heart’s work. And it’s something I think I was always always meant to do. I’m happy that we’re in the position where we can now help people.”
“I was in this pit of darkness and I was trying my hardest to claw my way out…that is why I do it,” she shared. “I don’t want people to be in that pain, and if I can do or say anything to help them – to be a small light that helps guide them out…I have to do it. It’s not that I just want to — I feel it in my soul that I have to.”
Gurk also frequently shares her Christian faith on social media. In one recent post, she reminded followers that “if you need a sign from God, all you have to do is ask.”
Gurk’s followers are excited to hear more of her story in her upcoming book.
