Tom Holland hopes to keep doing SPIDER-MAN movies “many times over,” according to a heartfelt thank-you note he recently shared with the crew of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY.
“Firstly, I’m so sad this is coming to an end,” the actor wrote in a note obtained by The Direct. “It’s been tough and hard work, but working with you all every day has been such a joy. Thank you for making this the most creatively fulfilling filming experience I’ve ever had.”
Holland continued, “Your hard work, dedication, talent, and kindness has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of and I can’t thank you enough. I’ve loved laughing with you all and I hope we do this many times over. This movie wouldn’t be a fraction of what it will be without you. So thank you from the bottom of my heart and I’ll see you next time.”

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY is the fourth movie where Holland will play the wise-cracking web-slinger. Production wrapped late last year, and the movie is set to premiere this July.
Little is known about BRAND NEW DAY’s plot, but an unofficial synopsis posted to IMDb reads, “After Doomsday, Peter Parker tries to focus on college and leave Spider-Man behind. But when a new threat endangers his friends, he must break his promise and suit up again, teaming with an unexpected ally to protect those he loves.”
Holland is joined by returning cast members Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, as well as newcomers Sadie Sink, in a still-unconfirmed role, and Jon Bernthal, who will reprise his role as the Punisher.
In an Instagram post marking the end of filming, director Destin Daniel Cretton saluted Holland for his “kind, generous leadership on and off screen, for your relentless work ethic, your fearless performances, and for your friendship.”
In a recent interview with ComicBook, Cretton said he was excited to “do something different” with the superhero in this movie.
“Of course it’s still the Spider-Man that everybody loves,” he added. “But this is a new chapter in his life, and that tonal shift was something that was really exciting to me and felt really different. It was an extremely gratifying experience.”
In a 2025 interview, Holland shared that he wants to “do justice to Peter Parker’s character” in BRAND NEW DAY, adding that he and the rest of the movie’s crew have been able to “capitalize” on the things that fans love about the character.
“I love standing up for the character, being in the room, and making sure that the decisions we make are what’s best for Peter Parker, because he really does feel like one of my best friends,” the actor continued. “It’s a really weird experience diving into the character again. It just feels like you’re hanging out with an old pal.”
SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY premieres in theaters July 31, 2026.
