Art Edmonds gives back to veterans, first responders and other heroes in his latest home renovation series HOME FOR GOOD.
“From start to finish, we have about seven, eight days from the time that we first meet these incredible families,” he told TV Insider. “These individuals tell their story [and] we follow them along to what they do in their daily life, maybe have a little adventure along the way. Meanwhile, our construction and design team is working to bring that big reveal. And along the way, we’re educating our viewers about fire, smoke and carbon monoxide to help protect the home and not only make it a beautiful space, but a safe sanctuary.”
HOME FOR GOOD premiered on ABC earlier this year, produced by Hearst Media Production Group.
“This series is our way of saying thank you to everyday heroes,” Bryan Curb, HMPG executive vice president and general manager, education/information, said in a statement. “These inspiring stories highlight the impact and purpose of serving others and will resonate deeply with our audience.”
Edmonds has experience creating new homes for everyday heroes; he has previously worked on MILITARY MAKEOVER WITH MONTEL, which renovates homes for servicemen and women and their families.
“They always say that doing good for others is a reward unto itself, and you’d be surprised a lot of [the families we help] don’t feel worthy,” he shared in an interview with KGET Bakersfield. “They just think it’s a job that they do, and we’re happy to really give them this honor and make their lives better in just a small way.”
Edmonds continued, “The series is out there to show people doing good things for other people. Putting the community above their own needs. The list is long, but we’re doing the best we can to honor those individuals.”
In an interview with TV Insider, he shared, “I feel like HOME FOR GOOD and being the co-creator, co-executive producer, and host of the show, it’s a culmination of all the things of all the experiences I’ve had in my career all in one place.
“Working on a show like this that has heart and a positive impact,” Edmonds explained. “Sure, it’s entertaining, but it’s also educational and has emotional and intellectual value. It shows you good things are positive in the world, and there is more that pushes us together than brings us apart. This show is a perfect example of that. We’re highlighting who sacrificed and continue to wake up every day, putting two feet on the floor despite things going on in their own life.”
On HOME FOR GOOD, Edmonds and his crew are helping to create beautiful and safe homes for people who have spent their lives helping others.
