Candace Cameron Bure might have lost out on opportunities for proclaiming her Christian faith, but the actress says all she wants is “to honor God.”

“It’s been really, really challenging,” she said of being an outspoken Christian during a conversation with podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey. “I’m not even trying to raise a respectful ruckus. I’m just trying to be me. I’m trying to do the things that I love and do my job, and Jesus always comes with me and my faith always comes with me.”

The FULL HOUSE star explained that she understands part of her job as someone in the entertainment industry involves having “people like you, to some degree,” but added, “It is tough to live in a world where you need people to like you when you don’t always share the same worldview.”

“I’ve always believed in family entertainment,” she continued. “I’m just trying to live by what I believe is true and right and honorable to God, and I remind myself of that when I get scared of man, or the public, or the press, or the media. I go, ‘Well, who am I, really, to fear? Am I to fear man, or am I to fear God, who’s going to judge me on Judgement Day?’”

Bure added, “I just want to honor God.”

The actress also spoke about her move from Hallmark to Great American Family, saying, “Great American Family gave me an opportunity to help build something I’ve been praying about for a really long time.”

“I took a pay cut to go to Great American Family Channel,” she revealed. “It wasn’t about offering more money, or anything like that. I liked the idea of building something great, and that had a focus on faith and family.”

In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bure emphasized that idea, saying, “What really differentiates our channel from some of the other ones out there is that we’re not afraid to talk about God and God’s hand in our lives instead of fate or providence.”

“[Bringing people together has] always been the spirit of all the movies that I’ve produced,” she continued. “God loves all of us, and so that’s the spirit in which I make everything.”

The actress is a pro at balancing family and work life, which will come in handy soon. Bure’s daughter Natasha and son Lev have both recently revealed they are expecting their first children with respective spouses Bradley Steven Perry and Elliott Dunham.

“Can you guys believe that I’m gonna be a grandma two times over? I’m so excited,” Bure shared in a recent Instagram story.

While Bure might have missed out on some professional opportunities, the actress has dedicated herself to sharing her faith with viewers around the world who are grateful for family-friendly entertainment.
